My Dad hated anyone calling me Bernie but it was my nickname when I was younger. Being short and Scottish I was “Wee Bernie” for years. As I got older it moved to just B (Queen B to my partner ).

I really like my name. It’s not that common and the length adds to the appeal. Saying that I’ve just had a baby girl and her name has 4 letters. Good luck!

I chose Bernadette as my confirmation name (Irish catholic), my late 2nd cousin was Bernadette and I chose it for her. She was mainly full named by family but got called Bear by friends x

It really is a dreadful name. One of the worst i can think of.

My school friend was called Bretta. And shortened again to Bret!Great when The Who song ^' you better, you bet' came out and we were all singing 'you bretta, you bretta , you Bret ' to her!
