I love Anna, DH quite likes it
DH loves Nina, I quite like it
We both quite like Mia.

Middle name will be Esmeralda for family reasons.

Nina but they're all lovely

asongforthelovers · 12/11/2017 18:54

I like Nina.

Notalitigator · 12/11/2017 18:58

I think Mia is beautiful and I love Niña.

Anna is always popular on here, however, for me it's far removed from middle class tweeness. I know two as adults and both are drug addicts which unsurprisingly puts me off!!

Starryskiesinthesky · 12/11/2017 19:10

Nina then Anna. Not keen on Mia.

PeasAndHarmony · 12/11/2017 19:13

Nina is a fabulous name!

Blackcatonthesofa · 12/11/2017 19:21

Nina!

It's the name I use when introducing myself to English people (my lovely name gets mangled by english pronounciation).

AnyaMoondial · 12/11/2017 19:28

Anna is great but Nina is by far the best!

DinoMania · 12/11/2017 19:39

I feel like Mia or Anna go better with Esmerelda for my dialect. Might sound better with Nina in other regional dialects though. Do really like Nina.

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/11/2017 19:42

I like Anna best

Intercom · 12/11/2017 19:45
  1. Anna
  2. Nina
  3. Mia

I also like Nia which would combine 2 and 3.

CPtart · 12/11/2017 19:50

Anna Esmeralda although too vowels together don't sound great.

Organisednotobsessed · 12/11/2017 19:51

Anna but I'm biased because that's what my DD is called. We call her Annie as a pet name.

Mwnci123 · 12/11/2017 19:59

Anna nice, Mia ok, Nina my favourite.

namechangedtoday15 · 12/11/2017 20:00

I have a teenage girl and considered Mia - it was really popular then and its been relatively popular ever since.

I have an Anna (8 yrs old) and there are 1 or 2 in each year group (of 90 children) at her school. Popular, but not overly so.

There are no Ninas in whole school but know of 3 babies in the last 6 months who've been named Nina. I think it may be becoming "the" popular name.

Of course, popularity is just one aspect of choosing a name!

Wait4nothing · 12/11/2017 20:13

I like Anna and Nina - also like Nia

Kazzawazza69 · 12/11/2017 20:59

Nina is lovely. Mia is nice but quite popular. Anna is really boring imo.

Kazzawazza69 · 12/11/2017 21:00

Forgot to say I quite like the suggestions of Mila or Nia as well.

Ohmyfuck · 12/11/2017 21:02

Nina! :-)

NotBurpeesAgain · 12/11/2017 21:06

Anna

AnonimityMary · 12/11/2017 21:59

THis thread is as split between Anna and Nina as DH and I are!! Interesting that Mia is far behind. I think we will definitely choose between Anna and Nina.

I’m not so sure about the suggestions of Mila and Nia. In my mind they are too strongly associated with other cultures (Eastern Europe and Wales).

Anna definitely. Mia is nice but always top of every name list. Not too sure about Nina

DuncanDonut · 12/11/2017 23:45

Anna! It’s beautiful and classic.

Mia is too Lego friend-sy, and I knew a Jack Russell called Nina.

Kiaa · 13/11/2017 04:07

I like Mia the best

Battleax · 13/11/2017 05:05

Anya or Maya?

Pemba · 13/11/2017 05:21

Anna is lovely and classic too, one of my favourite names ever. Also a name that travels well, as it exists in many countries. I really like Nina as well, and I think that is also classic.

Mia is pleasant enough, but not in the same league, and like pps say, a bit currently fashionable, so might date.
