Ophelia or Romilly?

Hi,
I posted before about a girls name for this pregnancy. My little girl is called Ottilie and we like Gus (Magnus) is this one is a boy but were stuck for girls. We now (thanks to you) have names we like but sadly they are not the same name! My husband prefers Romilly and I prefer Ophelia, mn would be Blossom with either.
Any thoughts or experiences with these two??

It doesn't need a nn but Romy or Milly are great options if you are a family who do shorten names.

Have you considered Honor or Rumer.

Hi thickandthin. In all honesty, no I hadn't. They are not really my sort of names but thank you so much for your suggestion. I think I'm not so keen on 'word names', if that's even a thing?

Just thinking about other names as you and dh aren't settled on the same one.

Romilly, though I do think it's very similar in sound to Ottilie.

Yes, Ottilie and Romilly is a bit of a mouthful. This babynaming business is hard!

I have a friend who lives in Romiley. Find the name a bit odd for that reason.

I prefer Romilly as a stand alone name but Ophelia sounds better with Ottilie

Agreed, I live near there, seems weird to use it as a name. It's a pretty average suburb.

I like Ophelia. What about Aurelia or Elodie?

I love Ophelia but too close association with the Shakespeare play for me.

I love Romilly but I also think it's too similar to Ottilie. Romola is similar (not helpful I know)

Prefer Ophelia, but Ophelia and Ottilie are too similar, IMO.

So, Romilly. Romy for short.

I would avoid two names starting with the same letter (personal preference obviously) and Romilly and Ottillie sound too similar to me.

As pp said Romola or even Romona would be nice alternatives to Romilly and would give you the same Romy nickname.

Love Ottilie and Romilly, but they are a bit -illy together!
If they spend most their time Otty and Romy, then it wouldn't really matter as such - but if they are constantly their full names maybe too much?
I thought I liked Ophelia, but I heard someone shouting it in the cinema queue and it just sounded quite 'look at me' and it's put me off!

Romilly is one of my fav names. I'.d probably go for this

But do really like the name Ophelia and am a bit concerned Ottilee and Romilly are a bit rhymey

I love Ophelia but I think it's too similar to Ottilie, and I think Romily and Ottilie don't sound right together. I think Aurelia wold be perfect, similar to Ophelia but sounds much better with Ottilie
