I'm 22 weeks pregnant my little girl and completely stuck I want a name that's not a everyday name so slightly unusual but not to strange I really like Ava-mae and Ivy-mae but none of them really stand out to me my partner likes Hiedi but I'm not so keen any names you all can think of??

Ava and Ivy are both popular (Ava particularly). Mae is also the most popular as a hyphenated name.

Heidi is nice

Dulcie
Lila
Pearl

I know mae is popular but I'm wanting it as made is after my nana

Annie Mae?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/10/2017 13:06

If you dont want everyday names forget Ava and Ivy, they're everywhere.
There's nothing stopping you from using Mae, but just with a less over used first name
Heidi Mae is very sweet and not ridiculously popular.
Other suggestions
Nyla Mae.
Rosa Mae
Eden Mae
Aurora Mae
Luna Mae
Nyree Mae

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/10/2017 13:08

Melissa Mae
Felicity Mae
Helena Mae

stevensupersquirrel · 27/10/2017 13:48

Why not just use Mae on it's own?
Mae is ridiculously overused as a hyphenated middle name, but using if as a first name is very rare (only 85 in 2016 according to one stats).

Sophronia · 27/10/2017 13:59

I’d use Mae without the hyphen.

Annie Mae
Nancy Mae
Audrey Mae
Lucy Mae
Ada Mae
Rosa Mae
Alice Mae
Sylvie Mae
Anna Mae
Clara Mae
Flora Mae

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 27/10/2017 14:03

If you're firmly wanting hyphenated, I think Heidi-Mae is pretty.

Or, as an alternative, Edie-Mae sounds good.

Or what about Maeve (as a standalone name, unhyphenated with anything else), which would still honour your Grandmother, but is a little more unusual?

Plasticgold · 27/10/2017 14:04

Agreed on no hyphen.

How about:
Phoebe Mae
Rosa Mae
Evie Mae
Georgia Mae
Eleanor Mae
Sophia Mae
Annabelle Mae

bottlegreen · 27/10/2017 14:06

Roberta mae?

Marv1nGay3 · 27/10/2017 14:13

I know a Maisie Mae. I like Eliza Mae, or Georgia Mae?

fifipop185 · 27/10/2017 14:15

Tillie Mae?

NinonDeLenclos · 27/10/2017 14:18

Mae on it's own is better than either of the hyphenated versions.

Or Heidi Mae no hyphen

BernardBlacksHangover · 27/10/2017 15:04

I know an Ava-Mae and an Eva-Mae, both from my small town, so depends if popularity would bother you.

I like Heidi.

How about Ottolie? Ottolie-Mae could be quite sweet as well.

Mae as a first name is beautiful by itself.

Aquamarine1029 · 28/10/2017 02:29

Flora Rae

BernardBlacksHangover · 28/10/2017 09:47

Claudia-Mae
Ottolie-Mae
Lydia-Mae
Esme (pronounced Ez-may)?

Are you set on the hyphen op?

BernardBlacksHangover · 28/10/2017 09:48

Francesca-Mae
Hannah-Mae
Olivia-Mae
Rosalie-Mae
Josephine Mae with nn Josie Mae
April-May Wink

BernardBlacksHangover · 28/10/2017 09:50

Last suggestion I promise!

Mabel with nn Mae?

Do come back and let us know if you like any of these op Smile.

IAmTheDragon · 28/10/2017 12:02

I think Mae is hideous. May, like the month, is far more pleasing to the eye.

I love month names. June is well overdue a revival.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 28/10/2017 15:51

Hi OP, if you like Ivy and Heidi, how about Ida ?

mondler · 28/10/2017 16:02

Another vote for Mae as a first name. It's so pretty and underused, plus it would honour your Grandma? If not some other names that may fit:

Martha
Avery
Fern

PandorasXbox · 28/10/2017 16:03

Why not May. Much more credible. And no hyphens!

PhatSlag · 28/10/2017 16:07

Oda Mae Brown ??
