Indigo Blue
Violet Skye
Sunny Rae
Sienna Rose
Posy Flo

(In that order)

I think Sonny Ray and Arthur Bear were the boys names....

I have 2 DS's with much less colourful names still holding a torch for Indigo

Cassandra
Finian

I still kind of wish I had used them ....

Jooni · 23/10/2017 03:43

I really wanted a Max for years but I married one! Sad

Girls’ names when I was little were always long, frilly and usually Enid Blyton inspired:

Josephine
Carlotta
Wilhelmina
Lucinda
Mary-Lou

Later, I wanted Anna, Eva or Kate.

DD doesn’t have any of those but is definitely more along the lines of the latter. DS isn’t a Jr. but did get another short, simple name.

Ineedfun · 23/10/2017 03:49

Trudy and Dillon

Groovee · 23/10/2017 04:26

Staci-Jenni was one that I vaguely remember.

Dd was meant to be Rachel, but I worked with 4 of them at the time of pregnancy. Ds was meant to be Matthew but DH vetoed it with good reason.

I was planning to name the three or more daughters I was bound to have after characters in books I'd been reading. Not interested in boys! So I was going to have Sara after 'A Little Princess' and Clare after a character in 'Charlotte Sometimes'.

Also Nancy as we were doing a school production of 'Oliver'. Surprised that what happened to Nancy in the story didn't put me off!

Funnily enough I now don't like Nancy, even though it's fashionable again, but I still like Sara and Clare, although I know lots of people think they're dated names now.

senzaparole03 · 23/10/2017 10:06

Is Nancy fashionable again??

If we have a girl, I was going to give her middle name as Nancy, in memory of my Dad's long-deceased younger sister.

I used my girls name for my daughter, classic underused English name

I wanted Troy for a boy, don't think I would have used that had I had one.

CandyMelts · 23/10/2017 10:15

I was all about the girls names: Carly, Lori, Eden
Don't feel I had much of a naming style nailed down

CandyMelts · 23/10/2017 10:20

Oh wait seeing Troy reminded me of boys names!
I wanted 3 boys called Tate, Thane and Troy Blush

hippyhippyshake · 23/10/2017 10:21

I was briefly engaged in 1973 and we agreed that Glen and Linda were our favourite names (lol I was boring even then😄) Recently I was mildy curious and decided to look up old boyfriends on FB and noticed that ex-fiancé had a FB friend called Glen with ex's surname and wondered how much of a struggle he had had convincing his wife to call their baby Glen 🤣

NotSoEagerBeaver · 23/10/2017 10:28

Emma, Sunset and Dominic (it's what I named my 3 favourite dolls)

Not sure about any of them these days... although I am sure of my opinion on the potential baby Glen Grin

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/10/2017 10:39

Diana
Fleur
Christine
Aly-Louise

Raoul
Antonio
Marti

mrspatel77 · 23/10/2017 13:03

Jackie and Gareth!!!

Loveisthelaw · 23/10/2017 18:58

Freya, Thora... I was into norse mythology.
I also liked Petra (from The Chrysalids), Tamsin and Lyra.

I still like those names but not planning on using them.

ChequeredPasta · 23/10/2017 19:19

Fuschia Grin

MrsCharlieD · 23/10/2017 19:22

Angel and Ocean for girls, Taylor for a boy.

Just cringe. Thank God I never had a teenage pregnancy!

shelleybee · 23/10/2017 22:20

Aiden
Daniel
Jack
Seamus
Ralph

Erin
Amy

And Reean (for a boy) at one point, which I think I made up Confused

Buntysoven · 24/10/2017 00:22

Twins Catherine and Caroline... very sensible! Good job I didnt use Caroline though as I worked with a truly vile one.

Buntysoven · 24/10/2017 00:23

Oh.. I didn't use Catherine either 😂

CountFosco · 24/10/2017 06:06

Caroline is a beautiful grown up name, due a revival. I like Caro as a NN as well.

BikeRunSki · 24/10/2017 06:14

Sam, and I did.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 24/10/2017 07:15

Mallory for a girl
Camden for a boy

Yes, as in Towers and Market.

I don't even know.

OneMoreTune · 24/10/2017 07:21

Paisley, for a girl. I thought it was the prettiest, coolest name ever Smile

thegreylady · 24/10/2017 08:26

I made up the name Joanda for a possible daughter and Dorothy Margaret Elizabeth Ann for another using the names of all the prefects I thought were wonderful as a first year at Grammar School.

Dixiestampsagain · 25/10/2017 00:40

It’s safe to say some had better taste than others as kids!! Lots of Enid Blyton type influences!
