My husband and I can't decide between these two names! We are both 50/50. Which name do you prefer?

baby
People ask opinions on names (especially ones that seem made up) then they are going to get them.

I've heard my name be described as of a certain decade and a little dated. It is. It doesn't mean people are going to hate me for it.

Equally, when people are chosing baby names they clearly care how they will be received. Much better for people to say 'silly made up names' online than end up with people thinking 'who the hell calls their chiks that'

CamperVamp · 21/10/2017 20:20

Zendrick.

PurpleDaisies · 21/10/2017 20:22

You could combine the two to make Kyndrick or Zenson?

Tigertoes · 21/10/2017 20:22

Pendragon? It's a bit more classic

CamperVamp · 21/10/2017 20:24

Not sure about Byson.

Pyson, Myson and Wyson are also not good. But SO many names begin with K these days.

But then I think Kendrick is better than Zendrick.

But I would avoid Bendrick.

GinIsIn · 21/10/2017 20:25

It sounds like what Dyson or Hendricks would be branded as in Aldi.....

2014newme · 21/10/2017 20:26

Bendick?
😂

Surinah · 21/10/2017 20:29

How childish are most of the people on this thread? Pathetic.
Have any of you ever heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. You people need to get some lives.

I'm not from the country this site originates from, and now I know why people say your country is full of rude people. Disgusting.

There's special meaning behind both of those names to me, and I don't appreciate the trash talking. I would rather give my child an original unique name. The last thing I want is for him to enter school and 30 percent of the school has his name too..

I'm also not Caucasian.... So I don't prefer traditional Caucasian names.

OP posts:
WanderingTrolley1 · 21/10/2017 20:30

Kendrick?

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 21/10/2017 20:32

Well feel free to give your child an 'original, unique' name then. But don't put your suggestions on a forum and expect not to get opinions.

QuantamBaby · 21/10/2017 20:36

Well what one person thinks are rude and disgusting answers someone else thinks are a fairly honest reflection of how those names will sound out in the real world.

Both are pretty terrible....

celeryeater · 21/10/2017 20:39

I agree with the OP. People on this thread are pretty pathetic and definitely not as hilarious as they seem to find themselves. Not everyone wants a boring name. Personally I quite like Zendrick and think Zen is pretty cute for a nickname too.

grasspigeons · 21/10/2017 20:39

I think I prefer Zendrick, especially if it can be shortened to zen.
Kyson is ok. It seems easy to spell and pronounce but I am not as keen on names ending in son.

CamperVamp · 21/10/2017 20:40

Well there are millions (MILLIONS!) of non-white-western names from all sorts of countries.

My kids aren't Caucasian and have names rooted in a different culture. But they are rooted in a culture.

People are rude, here, on baby name threads. But for better or worse it is what people think of the names.

Take it or leave it

Anyway. Zendrick is better.

GlitterGlue · 21/10/2017 20:40

In which country are Zendrick and Kyson names?

MaisyPops · 21/10/2017 20:41

I'm not from the country this site originates from, and now I know why people say your country is full of rude people. Disgusting.
Because people on a UK based site have said names that you have deliberately chosen because you want to be unique sound made up?

Then when the response has been oh so predictable you play your trump card / drip feed 'I'm.not even from this country so these names aren't from your country'

I would rather give my child an original unique name. The last thing I want is for him to enter school and 30 percent of the school has his name too
That's fine. But don't be surprised if/when people think thr name is made up.

At the end of the day if you had said 'I'm not from the UK and there are 2 names from my culture fhay mean a lot to me. Which do you like the sound of best?' then i have no doubt you' have had very different responses.

But you knew that when you started a thread about youneeek names only to drip feed later in faux outrage.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 21/10/2017 20:41

And also OP- you are being very rude yourself- you don't want your son to have the 'same name as 30per cent of the others'. Normal name not good enough for you. Hmm

QuestionforQuentin · 21/10/2017 20:43

Awful 'names'.
Sorry, OP. Kyson sounds like the name someone would give a particularly aggressive bull terrier.
Zendrick is just so cringeworthy. As though you think it's zany to use a Z at the beginning of a made-up word.
Are you the sort of person who says "Don't mind me, I'm just mad, me!", by any chance?
Please don't name your son those words. It'll be embarrassing for him.

vitaminC · 21/10/2017 20:43

If you're not in the UK and don't have anything in common, culturally, with most of the members here, why on earth would you post a thread like this here and then get upset at people's replies? Confused

ukelelebanana · 21/10/2017 20:45

Have any of you ever heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all
man are you in the wrong place!

QuestionforQuentin · 21/10/2017 20:47

*Have any of you ever heard if you don't have any nice.." blah, blah; and then goes on to insult everyone!

Ha!

I feel sorry for poor Dyson even more now!

elevenclips · 21/10/2017 20:49

Op statistically the most popular names are only given to 1 in 50 babies. So only 2% of the school would be called "Oliver". In my ds school in his year, there is one Oliver and one Olivia. Out of about 100 kids.

Are you aware of Dyson? A brand of vacuum cleaner? Kyson sounds similar. Plus abbreviations such as Ky - well KY is a brand of sex lube. So probably not a great choice in the UK anyway.

Zendrick, I've never heard of sorry. A google shows it's a surname generally.

MaisyPops · 21/10/2017 20:51

If you're not in the UK and don't have anything in common, culturally, with most of the members here, why on earth would you post a thread like this here and then get upset at people's replies?
Because MN is known for being blunt and at times brutal on names and in a weird way it must ge very satisfying for some people to start threads they know will get a reaction and then do a massive drip feed on page 2 or 3 so that they can shout at anyone who cruelly wasn't psychic about a fairly important piece of information.
Maybe I'm being cynical.

GinIsIn · 21/10/2017 21:04

But google reveals these ARE made up names, with no cultural origins or significance. Confused

Icantreachthepretzels · 21/10/2017 21:07

I'm going to pretend for a moment that this is a real thread.

Zendrick, definitely.

Kyson is too close to Tyson, and Tyson is never a good name choice (apologies to any mothers of Tysons out there.)
