Jago is similar. Pronounced Jaygo. Cornish for James. Then there's milo of course.

Needalifeoverhaul · 24/09/2017 06:24

Sweet, polite, well mannered. Makes no sense logically thinking but that was my first thought!

IWouldLikeToKnow · 24/09/2017 06:44

I love it. It was on the list for my son. And we're not posh or entitled

Mclaren37 · 24/09/2017 08:23

I just think a adorable toddler name! I think the posh / entitled image is out of date now. Just like Arthur was a dirty old man a few years back and is now just a lovely fresh and popular baby name. I imagine a Hugo to be blonde too for some down reason? (We would have called DS 3 this had it not rhymed with our daughters name.)

Bulldog name.

flamingnoravera · 24/09/2017 12:02

My son's uncle is Hugo. He is all the things ops have said, entitled, grumpy and posh but poor.

saritah · 24/09/2017 12:08

Sorry, the way it's pronounced just sounds really posh to me. Prefer Hugh!

MollyHuaCha · 24/09/2017 12:18

I like it.

euanthesheepiloveyou · 24/09/2017 13:30

I had a terrapin called Hugo. He wasn't fat. Or posh. Or remotely entitled. He was a fabulous terrapin. So I like the name. *RIP Hugo the terrapin. 🐢

MaroonPencil · 24/09/2017 13:33

I think it's a nice name, although it does have some posh connotations. I like the name Hugh but am always put off by the fact it contains the word ugh - although pronounced differently.

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 24/09/2017 14:48

I actually went slightly misty-eyed there over Hugo The Terrapin, euan.

Oysterbabe · 24/09/2017 15:11

Border Collie.

MammieBear · 24/09/2017 15:36

Prefer Hugh myself, but still a good choice of name.

BeatriceBeaudelaire · 24/09/2017 19:04

Victor Hugo ... think of him every time

MikeUniformMike · 24/09/2017 19:38

Love it.
