Absolutely Florence it's beautiful. I can only think of the lager with Stella.

Bubblesoup · 19/09/2017 10:06

Florence ❤

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/09/2017 10:51

Florence

Lemondrop99 · 19/09/2017 11:20

Florence (but I personally have an irrational dislike of the name Stella)

Rocketbuddies · 19/09/2017 11:22

Sorry I don't like either

Stella just reminds me of the beer and Florence is really overdone and common in our area.

2014newme · 19/09/2017 11:23

Stella
Florences always get called Flo and sound like charladies from 1930

MammieBear · 19/09/2017 11:29

Both are Lovely and if it's of any interest to you both are named of Brietling wing walkers.

WalkanTalk · 19/09/2017 11:33

There's loads of Florences now.

I love them both, but Stella is more unusual at the mo.
Don't worry about the 'lager' comments. I was taught by a nun called Sister Stella. I think it sounds very pretty.

TonicAndTonic · 19/09/2017 11:40

There's loads of Florences now.

^^This! It's nice enough but really popular.

As for Stella, I actually really like it, but there is the issue with the beer...

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 19/09/2017 11:43

Love Florence, but not keen on Flo, Flossie or Florrie.

Stella's nice (if you're after a middle name, what about Stella Maris "Star of the Sea", which I've always thought was really pretty!).

ImSoUnoriginal · 19/09/2017 11:52

I know it's popular but I prefer Florence. I really don't like Stella, despite the pretty meaning.

Chaffinch4 · 19/09/2017 12:01

Stella. It's lovely. Or what about Estella / Estelle if you're worried about lager connotations?

As pp said, Florence is really popular and I always just think of the city in Italy!

ibentmywookie · 19/09/2017 12:03

Florence or Florrie is lovely, but Stella is pretty cool too. I think of McCartney rather than the lager. I think Florence is classic, Stella is hipper.

stellarfox · 19/09/2017 12:08

Both great names but I would probably go with Stella as it's slightly less popular. I also wouldn't worry about the lager association people have as I had the same association until I met a lovely little Stella and now I think of her. The more the name becomes popular as a girls name the more positive associations people will have with it. Also love Florence too but not keen on Flo as a nickname. You can't go wrong with either name!

roseloverr · 19/09/2017 13:14

Thanks everyone! I don't mind the nicknames for Florence, i think Stella sounds a bit harsher but i do love it. I love Florence too but it is very popular! Still not decided Sad

Florence

MammieBear · 19/09/2017 13:31

You might like Estelle or Estelle to soften Stella a bit, or Stellamaris which means star of the sea.

ThomasRichard · 19/09/2017 13:31

Florence. Stella in my head is a woman in a leopard-print jumpsuit with tattooed eyebrows and bad fake nails. No idea why Blush It has a pretty meaning but it sounds very harsh.

MammieBear · 19/09/2017 13:31

Estella darn auto correct!

Sophronia · 19/09/2017 13:32

Stella as it's less popular than Florence

abitoflight · 19/09/2017 13:37

I have a stella Smile
I have been given the wrong drink at bar 3 times as bar person thought I was asking for that beer when I was in fact chatting to DH about children 😂
I was pregnant with her at Disneyland Paris and stella was the brand of taps in the hotel written on top of each tap!
It suits her

bridgetreilly · 19/09/2017 18:30

Stella is really beautiful.

MollyHuaCha · 19/09/2017 19:06

Florence

SadieContrary · 19/09/2017 19:09

I like them both. Does one over the other go with your surname better?

Yogagirl123 · 19/09/2017 19:09

Stella
