What does everyone think about this name? I've never heard of it before and quite like it for a boy or girl. Thoughts?

I'm not keen , sorry.
How about Brynn for a boy, or Finlay instead.

AuraofDora · 15/09/2017 17:35

Nope. sounds like a town in Yorkshire

KadabrasSpoon · 15/09/2017 17:36

Not my cup of tea and makes me think of Brindley place.

What about Bryn?

RatRolyPoly · 15/09/2017 17:37

Where does it come from? I've never heard it. I'm not sure about it to be honest.

PhatSlag · 15/09/2017 17:38

My friend's DS is called Brinley, I've never met another. I like it.

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 15/09/2017 17:39

Sounds like a breed of dog or a cat colour.
"Yes this is Alfie, he's a brinley terrier"
Sorry 😐

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/09/2017 17:46

I'm not a fan sorry. It sounds too place namey for my tastes.

Wolfiefan · 15/09/2017 17:47

Is it actually an existing name? Never heard of it. Would expect a lifetime of explaining and spelling the name.

KindleBueno · 15/09/2017 17:47

That's something I would name a dolphin. Definitely not a dog, cat or baby name!

LoveB · 15/09/2017 17:58

I like it! For a boy

AdalindSchade · 15/09/2017 17:58

Hahaha no

Yourshakraishangingout · 15/09/2017 18:27

It's spelt Brynley and it's a Welsh name.

Bryn is a common Welsh name-wouldn't be met with laughter and certainly not mistaken for a dolphin...

MonkeyJumping · 15/09/2017 18:32

I like it, have only come across it as a Welsh name (brynley) but if you're in England the I spelling is maybe easier for people to guess the pronounciation.

YodellingMama · 15/09/2017 18:32

Eh? Is it made up?

MissHavishamsleftdaffodil · 15/09/2017 18:38

It does sound a bit like a town near Elstow.

MonkeyJumping · 15/09/2017 18:39

It's not made up, just an alternative spelling of a Welsh name.

Sophronia · 15/09/2017 18:40

I think it's quite popular in America. I know a Brynlee (girl).

Curtainsider · 15/09/2017 18:42

I prefer Bryn.

Auntiedahlia · 15/09/2017 18:46

I know a Brinsley

I was at university with a male Brindley (with the 'd' not a typo). I think it is a name, just an unusual one. He always got shortened to Brin.
If I heard it I would assume the bearer was male

pilates · 15/09/2017 19:27

No not keen at all

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/09/2017 19:27

I like it, for a boy.

willajon · 15/09/2017 19:34

it definitely is a real name, apparently a surname originally?

I quite like it, reminds me of Buckley which I really like.
