Thoughts on this name? How popular is it? My ds's name is outside of the top 100 but am happy to have a more popular one ( people always ask twice when they hear his name despite it being a real, perfectly normal name with a long history!!)

Oh I love it, and I don't know anyone called it either.

Orangedaisy · 08/09/2017 16:54

Love it. Know 2, aged 5 and 3. Feels pretty popular.

grufallosfriend · 08/09/2017 18:24

I worry about the I suck teasing potential Blush

loobybear · 08/09/2017 18:36

I think it's a lovely name. I don't think they would be likely to be teased for it at all.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 08/09/2017 18:37

I have an Isaac, only one in his school, hasn't been teased for it at all. I love the name, obviously Grin

YouMakeMeFeelLikeDancing · 08/09/2017 18:40

My DN is Isaac, he's 5 and it suits him. Only one I know

DiegoMadonna · 08/09/2017 18:56

It's one of my favourite names.

Chocolatecake12 · 08/09/2017 18:59

I have an Isaac aged 10
Only one in his school too!
In my eldest sons secondary school he says there are no Isaac's.
My ds has never been teased about the 'I suck' as that's not the pronunciation of the name.

2017SoFarSoGood · 08/09/2017 19:11

we have an Isaac in our family. Love the name. He really suits it. He's the only one we know.

course DH calls him Chickenpants, cos why wouldn't you?

Level75 · 08/09/2017 19:16

I know 3 Isaacs in the 3 to 5 age range. It's nice but popular.

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 08/09/2017 19:20

There's a fair few round here. Seems to be the new Noah.

DesperatelySeeking2016 · 08/09/2017 20:33

It is the best name ever (it might be my son's name). He has been the only one we know so far but I noticed there is another one in the parallel year R class to him.

BattleaxeGalactica · 08/09/2017 20:36

Ds2 had one in his class. Dubbed I-suck by his delightful Year 6 peers.

Lovely name but I wouldn't go there.

BewareOfTheToddler · 08/09/2017 21:46

I love it (but am biased Grin). Despite it being in the top 30 when DS was born, I only know one other, who's a bit older.

We thought he might end up nicknamed Zack at some point - but he hasn't yet. The I-suck thing had never occurred to me Blush

BewareOfTheToddler · 08/09/2017 21:47

Oh, and we have found his name gets a universally popular reception although people might just be being polite. It's always recognised straight away too. Only catch is quite a few people put "Issac" on cards, etc, which did surprise me.

bridgetreilly · 08/09/2017 22:32

Lovely name, lovely meaning.

notangelinajolie · 08/09/2017 22:37

Don't know any Issac's but it's a lovely name.

notangelinajolie · 08/09/2017 22:38

Don't know any Issac's but it's a lovely name.

Buntysoven · 08/09/2017 23:19

There is one in my dsis primary class (I asked as I know none) and his dad calls him eyesy!

C0untDucku1a · 08/09/2017 23:25

I have an isaac. He is also the only one in his school. im a teacher of 15 years and have only ever taught one.

C0untDucku1a · 08/09/2017 23:26

bunty we call our isaac eyesy or ikey.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/09/2017 00:05

we call our isaac eyesy or ikey.

Oh I don't like either of those nicknames. That does put me off the name slightly, I must admit.

Susierocks · 09/09/2017 01:25

Oh the I-suck thing had never occurred to me either! Then again I'm a teacher as well and have never seen any child be bullied about their name.

Do you prefer it to Caleb?

OP posts:
Sophronia · 09/09/2017 01:43

Not keen due to the "I suck" thing.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 09/09/2017 09:18

Definitely! I don't like the name Caleb at all.
