Although I'm not too keen on either I would choose Dorothea but only because it can be shortened to Thea or Dot or Dottie. Theodora sounds like a hatsnd it can be shortened to Dora - as in Dora the Explorer the children's TV character.

100% Theodora. Dorothea makes me think diarrhoea, sorry

candlerings · 06/09/2017 14:51

I'm sorry there both granny names

ImmyWhite · 06/09/2017 14:52

Why comment? Hmm it's going to be one of them. They're close to my heart and for a middle name.

I have a Theodora, shortened to Dora.

I love it but then I'm very biased Grin

indigo13 · 06/09/2017 15:53

I love both but would definitely choose Theodora

LatinJules · 06/09/2017 15:54

Theodora

ChocolateCrunch · 06/09/2017 16:54

Theodora

Loopytiles · 06/09/2017 16:56

Dorothy.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/09/2017 16:57

I love them both. DS was going to be Theodora if he was a girl. I love the NN Teddie

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/09/2017 17:01

Dorothea

Pemba · 06/09/2017 17:27

Dorothea

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/09/2017 17:39

Just Thea.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/09/2017 17:40

How about Althea ?

Systamex · 06/09/2017 17:45

Dorothea is beautiful

millifiori · 06/09/2017 17:47

Theodora is my favourite because Dorothea just makes me think of Wizard of Oz. I love Theodora. Elegant name with a lovely meaning. Thea as a short version is gorgeous.

BroomstickOfLove · 06/09/2017 18:17

I love them both, but probably Dorothea because of the Arthur Ransome character and Middlemarch.

juneau · 06/09/2017 18:17

Neither - they're both awful.

Jooni · 06/09/2017 18:17

Both lovely but I really love Theodora, and it feels a bit feistier to me.

daisypond · 06/09/2017 18:47

Both are fab. Probably Dorothea has the edge - Middlemarch fan.

raspberrysuicide · 06/09/2017 18:53

I have a lovely friend called Thea and her full name is Theadora with an A rather than an O

Ttbb · 06/09/2017 19:00

Theodora makes me think fedora but it's fairly flexible. She could be a Thea or a Dora if she wanted. Dorothea even more so, could be Dot, Dotty, Dora and Thea

bridgetreilly · 06/09/2017 19:55

Dorothea every time. Such a lovely name, with a beautiful meaning and great literary connections.

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/09/2017 20:39

Dorothea nn Thea or Dottie. It's a lovely name

MammieBear · 06/09/2017 21:17

Dorothea as Theodora just fizzles out in comparison, how about Theodosia?
