One

SummerRoberts · 31/08/2017 20:51

Four.
Three of them are 3ish years old and one is 25.
I love the name but it seems more and more popular now. I often hear it being shouted around where I live.

Timefor2 · 31/08/2017 20:51

Three - all aged three or under

SherbertLemon2011 · 31/08/2017 21:00

It is a VERY common (frequently occurring) name where I am for those about 4 years and under. In dcs small ish nursery (26 children) there is a Flo, a Flossie and a Florrie

10littlepirates · 31/08/2017 21:34

3 - all aged around two. One known as Flo and two known as Florence. Lovely name though.

BusterGonad · 31/08/2017 21:34

2, one is Flo and one is Flo Rider! 😂

thecakefairy · 31/08/2017 21:36

I know 2. One ex workmates. We called her Flo.
The other had a machine! 😂

yomellamoHelly · 31/08/2017 21:39
  1. One a grown women (who hates her name and was aghast we'd called our daughter the same name). Nn Flo (dd and this woman). Other one goes by the full monniker.
IggyAce · 31/08/2017 21:45

I know one age 4 her nn is Flo. I prefer Florrie as a nn.

Maybebaby2 · 31/08/2017 21:46

Two, one get called Flo and the other has to be the full Florence, her mum gets annoyed if anyone calls her Flo.

EggysMom · 31/08/2017 21:46

Two - one age 3, and one just coming up to a first birthday.

Cailleach666 · 31/08/2017 21:47

I know one Florence, but she is a dog.

SuperBeagle · 31/08/2017 21:54

Three. One's in her 80s. One is around 30. And one is a Boston Terrier.

All are known as Flo, which is the reason I don't like the name.

sosieso · 31/08/2017 21:56

One in her mid twenties, always called Flo.
Personally I'm not keen on the nicknames, but I love the name Florence itself.

Mammadragon · 31/08/2017 21:59

Genuinely every other girl here seems to be Florence, at baby group there is about 5/6! We are in the South West.

Growuphelen · 31/08/2017 22:02

One, aged 5. NN Flo

Christmastree43 · 31/08/2017 22:02

I know two - one Floz (😂) aged 8 and one Florence aged 5 or 6 ish

MotherofA · 31/08/2017 22:04

I know about three , all nicknamed Flo .

Enidblyton1 · 31/08/2017 22:05

I think there must be massive regional variations with the name Florence. According to comments on Mumsnet the highest concentration seems to be in the South West! Not particularly common in my area of the South East.
I know 3 - one in her late 30s (Flo), a 5 year old (Florence) and 3 year old (Florence or Flo Flo). There is only one Florence in my DDs primary school.

lazycrazyhazy · 31/08/2017 22:08

My DD Florence is 30 and it was very uncommon then! I know of 2 little ones though (under 3). Such a pretty name I think, of course!

Beek84 · 31/08/2017 22:09

Two, both under. 1. One is Florence, the other gets Floss more often than not. Lovely name but definitely having a surge in popularity at the mo

lazycrazyhazy · 31/08/2017 22:10

My DD was called Flo occasionally in her teens but it never stuck and she has always been Florence.... Flo isn't inevitable any more than young Williams are called Bill these days!

Logans · 31/08/2017 22:15

WishingCarrot · 31/08/2017 22:52

I know two under six.

My great, great aunt who I remember from my childhood was Florence (Floss). She would have been born v late 1890s/ v early 1900s.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 31/08/2017 23:05

1 she's 5, an identical twin and always known as Flo. She's gorgeous.

Lovely name.
