Nn Obe or Ronnie??
Just no. .

HarrisHawk · 28/08/2017 14:45

Lord what fools these mortals be.

Sophronia · 28/08/2017 14:45

I prefer Auberon.

Titanz · 28/08/2017 14:46

No.

I also suspect there will be plenty of Oberyns soon because of GoT

Cantseethewoods · 28/08/2017 14:46

Is he the one that got his head crushed by The Mountain or am I thinking of someone else?

Titanz · 28/08/2017 14:47

Oberyn was yeah Cantsee

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 28/08/2017 14:47

I'm named after his wife.

Every time I introduce myself people say, "Oh, where's Oberon? HAHAHAHAHA!"

Hmm

Fucking awesome name, but he was kind of a d-bag.

NikiBabe · 28/08/2017 14:48

But room, fairy, here comes Oberon.

No!

BoreOfWhabylon · 28/08/2017 14:48

HarrisHawk Grin

Josuk · 28/08/2017 14:48

Sounds like some sort of dark overlord.... or something from game of Thrones.
Don't envy a kid with that name on a playground...

Sorry.

DryHeave · 28/08/2017 14:48

No. Not even as a middle name.

Bobbins43 · 28/08/2017 14:49

No. Plenty of other Shakespearean names?

ILoveMyMonkey · 28/08/2017 14:50

As in 'A midsummer night's dream' that most secondary schools teach at some point. He'll be tortured by peers so no.

NikiBabe · 28/08/2017 14:50

Byron or Orson sound similar.

I'd go with one of those.

MineKraftCheese · 28/08/2017 14:51

What about "Bottom" Grin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 28/08/2017 14:51

If you're going for a GoT style name probably best not to go for a character who had his brains squooshed in a comedy moment.

Tyrion is sadly underused.

BertrandRussell · 28/08/2017 14:52

King of the fairies?

Any paticular reason you want him to have a hard time at school?

spankhurst · 28/08/2017 14:54

I wouldn't.

OhTheRoses · 28/08/2017 14:56

Well in our gender neutral world it should be ok but in a secondary school be it state or boys public school unless he's the toughest, thickest skinned prop forward then I think Oberon, king of the Fairies may be too much to bear. Alternatives of that genre:

Tristan
Gawain
Florian
Horatio

Could any of those work?

Roseformeplease · 28/08/2017 14:56

Shakespeare's drug overlord, King of the Fairies and an abusive and jealous husband. Yes, perfect name for a boy.

NinonDeLenclos · 28/08/2017 14:57

Obie. I've heard worse tbh.

I'd avoid it unless you can guarantee private education.

daisypond · 28/08/2017 14:59

The malicious, treacherous, somewhat cruel king of the fairies from Shakespeare? I wouldn't.

RedBlackberries · 28/08/2017 15:00

I've always wanted to call a girl Titania. I think it's beautiful. But Oberon......

Cantseethewoods · 28/08/2017 15:03

Ok. I'm officially a pleb. OP was thinking Bard. I was thinking HBO. That said, HBO is better and I reckon Shakespeare would agree if he were still alive.

Viviennemary · 28/08/2017 15:08

If you're a Hollywood A lister maybe. If not then absolutely no way.
