I absolutely love it!!
Not sure I'd be brave enough to actually use it as a name though.

It's not you who would have to be brave.......

astonvanilla · 28/08/2017 15:18

We know an Auberon nn Bron.

SilverySurfer · 28/08/2017 15:33

Not a great name for a child. What would you use as a NN? Ron?

Liadain · 28/08/2017 17:53

Absolutely not.

AmyGardner · 28/08/2017 17:55

Hmm, of all the names in the world, that's the nicest one you can think of for a tiny squishable lovely snuffly baby?

PurpleDaisies · 28/08/2017 17:56

Awful

FiveStarService · 28/08/2017 17:56

It sounds made up Confused

stumblymonkeyagain · 28/08/2017 17:57

@KingJoffreysRestingCuntface

I met a woman called Tyrion last year, she was in her mid-30's so not GoT inspired...

stumblymonkeyagain · 28/08/2017 17:58

Personally I wouldn't. It sounds so much like a dark overlord of some kind it would be hard to live up to as a mere mortal.

Mrscropley · 28/08/2017 18:19

Actually just had a thought. .

Is it a nn for Toblerone??

DeliveredByKiki · 28/08/2017 18:21

no way....I was directing MSND when pregnant with DS and desperately tried to convince DH his middle name should be Puck. Thankfully came to my senses.

I've got a cat called Oberon though (and an Ophelia and Othello....)

ClashCityRocker · 28/08/2017 18:23

Everyone will assume it's Got even if its actually Oberyn in the show.

Obi would be a cool nickname though.

Mightybanhammer · 28/08/2017 18:26

Nice try OP! Grin

loveka · 28/08/2017 18:29

Christ no.

ShuttyTown · 28/08/2017 18:30

FFS

twattymctwatterson · 28/08/2017 18:39

I prefer Podrick. Pod the Rod when he's older

AngelsWithSilverWings · 28/08/2017 18:50

I know a 12 year old Oberon. There has been no teasing that I have heard about. The other kids in his class just accept that that is his name.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/08/2017 18:52

Why Oberon? Any particular reason?

Butterfly1975 · 28/08/2017 20:47

I know an Oberon nn Obi. I think like most people I was a bit Hmm when I heard it for the first time but it's really grown on me!

Stickerrocks · 28/08/2017 21:19

I know an Auberon, shortened to Aubrey to rhyme with strawberry.

blacksax · 28/08/2017 21:24

It sounds made up

By Shakespeare?

Raines100 · 28/08/2017 21:25

What? Au-berry?

Fintress · 28/08/2017 21:27

Obi would be a cool nickname though.

No, never. Obi-Wan Kenobi immediately springs to mind.

NataliaOsipova · 28/08/2017 21:29

Agree with the pp who said "King of the Fairies" is the first thing that springs to mind. It's such a well known play....
