I know someone with DC (not twins) who effectively have the male and female version of the same name. Not Robert & Roberta, but just to give an example. Her choice, don't care etc. but I don't understand why you'd give such similar names when there are thousands to choose from.
Would you do it? And why?

I know a married couple called Paul and Paula too. They are lovely people.

glowwormsunite · 06/08/2017 20:23

I know a Paul married to a Paula too! And siblings Shannon & Shane...

GRW · 06/08/2017 20:24

I know siblings called Graham and Grace. Although they start with the same sound the names feel different.

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 06/08/2017 20:28

I knew siblings with basically the same first name (male and female form) and they even had the middle names Ann and Andrew. I also knew twins John James and James John. A bit unimaginative but up to the parents I guess.

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 06/08/2017 20:35

My mum's cousins are John and Joan. I always thought that was a bit of an odd choice for a brother and sister.

I also know a family with brothers called Zac and Isaac, and another one with Albert and Alban.

I don't know a Paul/Paula married couple, but I do know a Max/Maxine one and one where both the husband and wife are called Ravinder.

LavenderRains · 06/08/2017 21:43

I know siblings Leigh, Leah and Harleigh Confused

LavenderRains · 06/08/2017 21:44

I had a friend in primary school who had older twin siblings called Micheal and Michelle

cupcake007 · 06/08/2017 22:15

I know someone with two boys called Henry and Harry. Same name, right?

AmyGardner · 06/08/2017 22:20

I know sisters named Evie and Ivy.
I always think it's weird that they couldn't come up with basically more than the one name for their two children.

loubar101 · 06/08/2017 22:35

A relative of mine gave her 3 DC names that all rhymed with each other, think Tracy, Stacy and Lacy...

She thought it was cute Confused

Mulch · 07/08/2017 12:19

I know a Micheal and Michelle siblings

UsernameInvalid66 · 07/08/2017 16:18

I don't know any couples called Paul and Paula but I've know siblings with those names, or rather I knew their younger brother, whose name was completely unrelated. I think Paula was older than Paul - I'm guessing Paul was their dream name and they used Paula in case they never got to have a Paul!

I've known siblings called Michael and Michelle too.

Also known a couple both called Chris but obviously short for different names.

Choccyhobnob · 07/08/2017 16:26
