I haven't got any ideas for a baby girls name that goes with sister's name Alice. Help please :)

I love Arrrietty. Do wouldn't entertain it as option and we had boys anyway. Sad

Alice and Clara (there is one in "The Nutcracker", and also in "Heidi")
Alice and Lara (from "Dr Zhivago")
Alice and Laurel (from Yeats poem 'A Prayer for my Daughter' - the line
"O may she live like some green laurel
Rooted in one dear perpetual place"
Alice and Elinor (Elinor Dashwood was a character in "Sense and Sensibility")
Alice and Eliza (Eliza Doolittle, from Shaw's "Pygmalion" aka 'My Fair Lady')
Alice and Estella (Dickens, "Great Expectations")
Alice and Rosalind (Shakespeare, "As You Like It")
Alice and Antonia (Willa Cather, "My Antonia")
Alice and Willa ^^

Some really nice names on here! I'm liking Beatrice Smile

Not literary but I've just remembered Hester. I think it goes quite nicely with Alice.

We have an Alice and a Sophie. I think Alice and Matilda is lovely too, so is Alice and Rosie xx

ChocolateDinosaur · 05/08/2017 20:12

protagonist or just character in a book?

ChocolateDinosaur · 05/08/2017 21:34

Alice and Esme (Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Alice and Beth (little women)
Alice and Sophie (BFG)
Alice and Elizabeth/Jane/Mary/Lydia/Kitty (pride and prejudice)

I thought everyone on the baby name boards would know "sibset" too! The other day I had to explain to my neighbour about sibling names "going together". I was commenting on a really odd sibset of a family we know. She didn't understand that it was a thing! Confused

BikeRunSki · 06/08/2017 15:23

Sibsets and names going together is only a thing on MN.

IRL I know plenty of ordinary brothers and sisters whose combinations of names would never meet MN approval, including my sister and I.

Most of the families I know have DC names that belong in a certain style. For instance, a family where the kids all have names like Taylor, Skyler, and Piper, and other families where the kids' names are Caroline, Rachel, Anna, David and Michael, or Jonah, Ezekiel and Levi, or Sawyer, Cassidy and Parker.

You wouldn't get a Skyler and a Caroline in the same family.

I would agree, mathanxiety. I think most parents gravitate to a certain type or style of name. Maybe they just don't consciously think about it the way baby name aficionados do.
