How many young Jacks do you know?

Just that really. I know it's popular but don't know any little Jacks personally and only know one grown up Jack. Is it super popular? Any mum's with school kids give an idea as to how many in a class. Is Zack as nice..? (Would have to be Zachary)

I think it's quite timeless. My grandfather was called Jack, as is my 19 year old nephew and my friend's 2 year old.

Tilapia · 29/07/2017 17:05

I know one Jack and one Zach.

dingit · 29/07/2017 17:06

I have a teen Jack, but for the first few years of his life he thought his name was NoJack Grin

Jooni · 29/07/2017 17:31

Loads of little Jacks round here (East Mids). I'd say it's the most popular boy's name for the under 5's along with Archie, Alfie and Toby where I am.

I do like Jack but I prefer Zachary/Zach. I come across fewer of them too.

grufallosfriend · 29/07/2017 20:32

Wasn't Jack THE number 1 name for years? I know loads aged 3-13.

Sophronia · 29/07/2017 22:07

Two in their 20s and one aged 6.

2gorgeousboys · 29/07/2017 22:17

I know 3 primary school aged Jacks and a couple of teenage ones. Don't know any Zachs but know 1 6 year old Zachary.

TuttiFruttiCutie · 29/07/2017 22:22

Very popular here (Home Counties) but looking lovely all the same! If spell Zack- Zac or Zach. If you like Jack how about Jake?

Mclaren37 · 29/07/2017 23:45

Lots of 7-11 year old Jacks then there seemed to be a gap and then we've had three new baby Jack announcements in the last 4 months! It's back! (Our 3 year old goes to nursery with three Zach/Zachery/Zaks.). It's nice names.

thewideeyedpea · 29/07/2017 23:47

My own aged 2,named after my grandfather.

Jungfraujoch · 29/07/2017 23:47

I know 6 teenagers including my DS1 - and they all started school together!

Huffletuff · 29/07/2017 23:49

Teacher here. No Jacks this year. Loads of Zachs.

junebirthdaygirl · 29/07/2017 23:54

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/07/2017 07:00

TheInimitableMrsFanshawe · 30/07/2017 07:09

One, aged 3. And about 6 Harrys.

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/07/2017 07:11

Quite a few mainly 6 years plus but know a couple who are about three years old very popular here but a few Zacks too.

CatInTheMat · 30/07/2017 11:23

I know one toddler Jack (though I don't have young children) and heaps of Jacks in their teens.

I think Jack as a name peaked in the 1990s and 2000s.

UsernameInvalid66 · 31/07/2017 22:13

I know one who's about 7 and one who's just turned 13, and quite a few who are a bit older than that (say about 15-25). I think it may have peaked and be a bit more unusual now. The most popular name for little boys in my area is definitely Oliver.

Marcipex · 31/07/2017 22:30

I know a single two year old, but multiple multiple 6-10 year old Jacks.
There are quite a few Zachary Zach Zacks around too.

Imo Zach is a nicer name than Jack, in spite of knowing an awful Zach.

SocksRock · 31/07/2017 22:34

3 Jacks in my DS's year group of 18...

OcelotnotGiraffe · 31/07/2017 22:36

There is a class in DS's year (yr8) with three Jack's and a Jake in it.
It is a fairly popular name.

NC4now · 31/07/2017 22:36

A few teenagers and a couple in their 20s. No little Jacks.
Zac is short for Isaac round here.

DelphiniumBlue · 31/07/2017 22:36

I know several, but all 10-25.
