Love it

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 28/07/2017 04:51

Leonard Cohen. Great song

whinetime89 · 28/07/2017 04:57

It honestly makes me think of Suzanne "crazy eyes" on OITNB

nodogsinthebedroom · 28/07/2017 06:06

I've like it!

KoalaDownUnder · 28/07/2017 06:10

Dated. And Sue (which is dreadful) is probably inevitable.

Guccibelt · 28/07/2017 06:14

It's ok. Prefer Susanna. I do know about 50 Sues.

Timefortea99 · 28/07/2017 06:20

Dull name. Screams 70s - flock wallpaper, babycham, brown flares, mustard blouses.

suze28 · 28/07/2017 06:34

It's my name and I've disliked it for a long time! I prefer it shortened to Suze or Suzie, never Susan and rarely Sue. Susannah is the name I wanted to be called and do love this name.

Swearwolf · 28/07/2017 06:42

It's my name! I can confidently say that in 30 years nobody has ever called me Sue, that's more a name from my mum's generation and I don't think it would occur to most people!

I've always liked having a z in my name, and having 7 letters so I could use rainbow colours, but it did feel a bit dated to me. I think I was just too close to its heyday being born in the 80s and actually now it's far enough removed that her peers would take it for what it is, if you see what I mean.

I think if you like it, go for it!

Swearwolf · 28/07/2017 06:45

High five suze28 Grin

greendale17 · 28/07/2017 06:45

Dated and will get shortened to Sue or Susan

suze28 · 28/07/2017 06:52

High five swearwolf
I can honestly say my name has never been shortened to Susan. Not sure why it would be as it's a totally different name.

Swearwolf · 28/07/2017 06:55

No, mine either! I did work with someone who couldn't seem to tell the difference and would alternate between Susan and Suzanne, but that was her issue and I reckon she'd have done the same with alice/Alison etc too.

RokChik · 28/07/2017 07:03

My name is suzanne. I used to hate it because as a kid I never found any of that personalised named tat with my name on!!! I was called Sue at school but I'm not a fan. Most people now call me Suzi. Actually I really like my name. It's not all that common and even at my age of 43 I can say ive rarely come across someone else with my name. I personally don't think it's dated because it hasn't been popular enough to date. It's not a name you associate with a particular era or generation.

suze28 · 28/07/2017 07:13

High five RokChik
I'm 45 and definitely think it's a name from the '70s. I do like that it's a French name and means Lily though.

Epipgab · 28/07/2017 10:40

It's OK, but I prefer Susan, closely followed by Susannah.

What Horatio said ^

faithinthesound · 28/07/2017 10:46

It was fairly inoffensive to my ears until it was wrecked by a terrible association haha. But I'm not you Smile if your daughter feels like a Suzanne to you, then Suzanne she shall be!

NerdyBird · 28/07/2017 13:03

I'm one! I'm 40 and have only come across a handful of others. I've never been called Sue, but the amount of people who just don't listen and call me Susan instead is annoying. People also spell it wrong.
Also got called Susie Poosie and things but that was mainly my brother to wind me up!

If you like it then go for it.

BuzzKillington · 28/07/2017 13:07

Horribly dated - it belongs in a 1970s vault with Tricia, Jackie, Sharon, Angela and Tracy.

Silverthorn · 28/07/2017 13:08

My cousin is called Suzanne. 80's child. She's always gone by Suzy or Suze. I think it's qiite cool and due a comeback. She's never been known as Sue or Susan.

CauliflowerSqueeze · 28/07/2017 13:09
Decaffstilltastesweird · 28/07/2017 13:10

Can't stand Suzanne but really like Susannah. I did know an absolutely dreadful Suzanne (Suzy) as a child though, so maybe that's put me off.
