Male.

Unless family are telly addicts.

Though it 'became' female for a little while because iPod tharpt daytime soap (I think it was The Bold and the Beautiful) which also put the traditionally female name Cruz onto a male character.

Female. I love it - had my youngest been a girl, he'd have been called Eden.

Wiki says:
Eden (Hebrew: עֵדֶן‎) as a given name, has several derivations, from the Biblical Garden of Eden, meaning 'delight'; It is given to both boys and girls. The first recorded use is from ancient Israel in the book of II Chronicles. It is also as a variant of the feminine name Edith and the masculine name Aidan.

I have a girl called Eden and lots of people have commented on what a pretty name it is. I suppose this only helps if you are thinking of a girl called Eden. I'm certainly not chavvy (ha, maybe chavvy people think that too!) Maybe it's different around the country. When I suggested it before my little girl I had lots of positive comments. Each name evokes all kind of feelings.

Male but just because I've only ever met one Eden (who was a boy)...

Foxsox · 29/06/2017 21:57

I know a boy called Eden but I still think it's more suited to girls

I have taught two Edens - spelled differently, Ee-den and Eh-den. One Jewish the other not. One lovely the other awful. Sorry this wasn't very helpful!

StarHeartDiamond · 29/06/2017 22:00

Female.

I would think girl because the only Eden I know is the actress who plays Belle on Emmerdale.

I like it. I think it's a pretty name.
I am always really shocked at how mean people can be on name threads.
I'd rather be "chavvy" than a horrible snob.
