Nice if spelt Fiona.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 21/06/2017 18:12

Huh??
Fiona and fionn are 2 completely different names!

SpecialStains · 21/06/2017 18:12

Not Fiona! Autocorrect! Ffion!

dexterson · 21/06/2017 18:13

@SpecialStains sorry? Grin Fiona is a girls name and completely irrelevant? Grin

OP posts:
chumpchange · 21/06/2017 18:13

Bloody autocorrect Grin

I also like Ffion.

elevenclips · 21/06/2017 18:13

It looks like a typo of Fiona

dexterson · 21/06/2017 18:14

@SpecialStains try again? Grin

I love the sound of the name and was considering it if we had a girl, but it's a Welsh name and I love the Welsh spelling. Doesn't matter what I think though, if you like that spelling, use it!

chumpchange · 21/06/2017 18:14

Oh Irish Fionn! Yes really like it.

dexterson · 21/06/2017 18:15

@SpecialStains it's Irish and the correct spelling Grin

Ah, never heard of Fionn as a boys name. I'm going to bow out here! Good luck with the name choosing!Grin

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 21/06/2017 18:16

Fionn is a boys name though and ffion is a girls.

They are Irish and Welsh names not just interesting variations of fiona.

dexterson · 21/06/2017 18:16

@elevenclips they may realise when a boy shows up Wink

I think its a nice name but he would clearly have to deal with a lot of ignorance around his name.

TheFallenMadonna · 21/06/2017 18:17

For a boy, right?

TheFallenMadonna · 21/06/2017 18:17

X post with many. Phew!

ExplodedCloud · 21/06/2017 18:19

Ah I assumed Ffion misspelling too being Welsh Special if it helps!

Littlegreyauditor · 21/06/2017 18:19

Lovely name for a boy, OP.

April241 · 21/06/2017 18:19

Lovely name, a woman I work with has a Fionn

MrsJoyOdell · 21/06/2017 18:19

I think that if you're in Ireland it's lovely.
If in the UK I'd stick with the spelling Finn, just for ease, otherwise the above is inevitable! He'll be called Fi-On or Fiona 🙄

SpecialStains · 21/06/2017 18:23

Is it pronounced fee-on? If so I do quite like it.

I'm sorry - I wasn't trying to be deliberately ignorant! Because I love the girls name Ffion I read it as that. I have never met a Fionn so it definitely wouldn't be an overused name if you live in the NW of England.

WinifredAtwellsOtherPiano · 21/06/2017 18:23

How's it pronounced? It looks nice and indefinably "masculine" in my eyes but I must admit my first thought was to expect a woman missing an extra F.

Pronounced Finn, however, it's nice but very popular (if that bothers you, it wouldn't me if I really liked the name). What middle name?

wellhonestly · 21/06/2017 18:25

I know a female Fionn. Pronounced FEE-on. Scottish. Lovely name, lovely person.
