I like Austin, I know one aged 5. It suits him, unusual but raises no eyebrows. Go for it if you like it.

I have one :) he's known as Oz or Austin. Love it still. Second on the list was Ashton. Austin felt more British, but both are popular in America.

I prefer "Austen" as a spelling/pronunciation, like Jane. Austin makes me think of Stone Cold (wrestler Steve Austin).

I think it's deceptively popular. There are two in my DD's class.

Oh I love Austin and really really wanted it for DS1 but DH was unsure so we went a different way (which is weird now cos obvs DS1 just is his name and I can't imagine him as an Austin!!)

I love Austin! All the grown up Austins I know are successful too, it strikes me as a strong confident name. It's not common where I live.

I don't know any Austin's - there are none in my area, which I think has made me like it more. It's not too unusual but everyone knows the name which is good.

I commented on this name on another thread. Some people think it's trendy and American but it's an 'old man chic' name in Ireland. I like it.

Not heard that name suggested for a baby before. Certainly none in my area. Like it. U go for it. Good strong name. Good young and older name.

As soon as we both agreed we liked the name, I thought that everyone would think it was very 'American', which I understand why. But I think it's cool.

My dad used to work 'up the Austin' even when it became Rover. To me it's always going to be a car make.
