Someone else called Michelle has the nicknames "Chelly" and "Shay". If you want to use Shay as a nickname, that's not the same as pronouncing a totally different name "Shay".

Surely the clue that the name is a pain in the arse is that they have to tell you how to say it on their website?

You may as well call the child Shelf, Spoon, Sausage or Sidepannelofatractor and tell people to pronounce it Shay.

you will be correcting people everyday and quoting the Navajo spanish thing will be very boring. Why not pick a name that can be easily pronounced or spell it shay if that is what you like.
