For a middle name?

But Francesca is lovely Smile

Francesca Fawn
Francesca Bay
Francesca Dove
Francesca Pearl
Francesca Bea...

Lots of other sweet, quirky names out there that aren't so tied to an animated deer!

HarrietVane99 · 01/05/2017 20:06

Francesca is lovely.

I agree, a really grown up and dignified name, but with several ways to shorten it if she chooses to do so.

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 01/05/2017 20:09

If she has a little brother you can call him Thumper Smile

Floggingmolly · 01/05/2017 20:14

Even if you'd got it right (!) and it was Italian for baby girl; so what? She won't always be a baby girl, why would you need to incorporate it into her name like a descriptor?

user1492526833 · 01/05/2017 20:16

Sounds endearing [pun] and innocent, but also reminds me of an 80's American stripper.

Sorry.

SecretNutellaFix · 01/05/2017 20:18

Bambi's mother got murdered. I wouldn't want that association

Bambi was also a boy.

Lilly16 · 01/05/2017 20:28

I'm not keen myself but maybe could work as a middle name...I like Francesca.
First thing I think is Disney, then strippers -sorry! ... It doesn't actually translate as baby girl either.

PirateQueenie · 01/05/2017 20:30

Aww I actually really like it!

elQuintoConyo · 01/05/2017 20:36

Bambi Berenbaum was an entomologist in an X-Files episode (War of the Coprophages, if you're interested).

All I have going through my head is, "her name is Bambi?"

It wouldn't suit any grown woman in any profession: teacher, bus driver, civil servant, flight attendent...

Mumoftheark · 01/05/2017 21:10

I know a someone with Bambi as a middle name, although actually since little (she's 16 now) everyone has always used it as her first. Her mother is from Finland and it's quite popular and a regular name there.
I don't think middle names matter too much, it's not like anyone ever uses them.
For a first name I would say no, but I don't see anything wrong with it for a middle

Aquamarine1029 · 01/05/2017 22:08

No, ffs.

PodgeBod · 01/05/2017 22:43

Ah who cares, it's only a middle name. It's cute and if she reallllly hates it she can tell people she doesn't have one. No harm, no foul.

buttercup54321 · 01/05/2017 23:01

How awful. And Baby girls grow up!!!

PirateQueenie · 01/05/2017 23:52

I think people are overreacting a bit. I like it, but also think middle names are meant to be quirky and somewhat silly. We had a friend growing up who's middle name was Rudolf, it was great! Gives real character!

PandaCat · 02/05/2017 06:58

I wouldn't use it on the birth certificate personally, but it could be a cute nn while she's young!

HeyCat · 02/05/2017 07:11

It does NOT mean baby girl in Italian!

If you really like it, use it as a nickname but don't actually lumber your child with such a silly name.

pardreg · 02/05/2017 12:57
Confused
FeedMyFaceWithBattenberg · 02/05/2017 12:58

😂😂😂

GinIsIn · 02/05/2017 17:13

I think too cutesy. How about Venison instead...? Grin

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2017 17:18

"It means "baby girl" in Italian"
No it doesn't. And she's only going to be a baby for a year. She'll be an adult woman for 60+

Abetes · 02/05/2017 17:20

It's awful. Please don't.

grannytomine · 02/05/2017 17:20

Oh no, just think about what happened to his mother. Not a safe name.

BertrandRussell · 02/05/2017 17:21

And anyone who thinks that nobody pays any attention to middle. Ames has obviously never met a crowd of year 4/5/6s- particularly girls. They make anagrams, they write them backwards, they do numerology with them.....

RustyBear · 02/05/2017 17:22

You could call her Amber. DD is Amber, but she's been called Bambi by her friends most of her life.

FeedTheSharkAndItWillBite · 02/05/2017 17:25

Bambi does not mean baby girl in Italian. There is the word "bambina", but that isn't a name. It's just not, sorry. It's a bit like calling your DC girl or Mädchen... Nope.

Plus, remember what happened to Bambi's mother... You're making yourself bambi's mother in a way. I mean, it's just weird imo.

Anyhow: Francesca is lovely. Really really lovely.

You could use a name that means deer and then use the nn "Bambi"?
Bambi is an adorable nickname. :)!
