Me & my dad have made up spelling names.
We both don't find it a hassle, actually.
I really only care on official documents.
That said, my kids' names have the most boring conventional spellings possible.
How many Amelia's become Amz or Lee & every other unexpected NN you can think of (many do that, ime!)
