I've only ever met one. Is it awful?

2 who are older - 40ish and 50s. It's a pretty name, though I am much less keen on Julie.

CaoNiMartacus · 06/04/2017 21:58

I've only ever met excellent Julias, and one lovely Ukrainian Yuliya.

Awks · 06/04/2017 22:00

I'm a Julia and I love my name.

Awks · 06/04/2017 22:01

John Lennon's mum was called Julia #handyfact

borntobequiet · 06/04/2017 22:01

My DM, and my lovely niece.
Classy name.

buttercup54321 · 06/04/2017 23:58

three in their 50's

AbernathysFringe · 07/04/2017 00:25

I went to school with one, she'd be in her 30s now. Back then, she had great hair and was very precociously sensible. Very likeable name.
I think Sawalha (likeable too) and Goolia (The Wedding Singer, Drew Barrymore, also likeable). I imagine it as having potential to be creative and sophisticated or sweet and friendly.
Hate Julie. Went with Juliette for my DD's middle.

EffinElle · 07/04/2017 00:27

I know 2, both in their 40's, lovely name Smile

SaudadeObama · 07/04/2017 00:29

Yes one that is 50 this year, one who is about 35, one that's in her 20's, one is in DS13's class and one who is 9.

mumsoftwins · 07/04/2017 00:30

I've met two and they're the most kind and wonderful people!

hellejuice91 · 07/04/2017 01:09

I've know two both in their late forties. Both lovely but slightly damp ladies.

lljkk · 07/04/2017 06:09

I only know one, professionally, about 30 yo? She slightly winds me up, sorry!

MrsHandles · 07/04/2017 09:08

I know two Julia's: my sister who is 28 and a very cute 4 year old (she's Polish if that influences anything)

cliffdiver · 07/04/2017 09:49

There's a Julia in DD1's reception class, she's very sweet.

It's a nice name.

Juliette is also nice. Not sure on Julie.

porterwine · 07/04/2017 19:53

I actually really like Julia but DH not a fan. I think it could make a come back quite soon, also love Juliet.
I only know one (Aunt who is 48) and I remember a girl a few years younger than me in school who would be about 20

ChippieFishieHorshie · 07/04/2017 20:41

Many Julias and Giulias, yes.

But I like it, it's a nice name. :) It doesn't seem currently popular in the UK.

Lemondrop09 · 07/04/2017 20:45

Always makes me think "Do it to Julia!!!"

But that aside, I know a couple of adults called this who are nice. Joolz is kind of a cool nickname

Mandraki · 17/04/2017 08:36

Yes, my aunty, 50 ish, she is lovely and she gets Boo for short.

OhTheRoses · 17/04/2017 08:41

Yes, two in my year at school always one in my social circle. I'm 56. There has been one in dd's class (or the class above or below) always (4 schools between 4 and 18).

BadToTheBone · 17/04/2017 09:25

I'm 50 and know bloody loads of Julias, all around my age.

User24689 · 17/04/2017 10:30

I know a very cool 21 year old Julia. I think it's a lovely name, people just associate it with older ladies these days - but I get the impression it is coming back around. I've seen it suggested on here quite a bit lately

5moreminutes · 17/04/2017 10:35

Loads of them in Germany - it's a very popular baby name, and I know Julias from baby age up to mid 20s, but no older ones I don't think... (Obviously pronounced Youlia but only because J is pronounced y). It's a nice name, and international, if having a name which travels well matters to you...

CuppaTeaTeddy · 17/04/2017 17:17

There was one in my year at school. She even acted like an old lady when we first went up to secondary school. We're only 18 now. I don't know any others so it seems wrong for a young person.

BasicBetty · 18/04/2017 17:17

I know two - one early 40s and one late 50s.
Lovely name. No idea why it's not used more.

originalbiglymavis · 18/04/2017 17:19

I love the name but the one I know is madder than a box of frogs.
