Thanks

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bambambini · 01/04/2017 23:59

Yes, but it's lovely and solid and does what it says on the tin.

sniffle12 · 02/04/2017 00:03

I have a fairly common name and it's always been nice not having to spell it for anyone/have it misspelled.

Plus, as a kid (admittedly pre-internet!) I could always easily find my name on personalised stuff - my cousin with a more unusual name never could!

DramaAlpaca · 02/04/2017 00:07

Nope, it's nice.

Brighteyes27 · 02/04/2017 00:07

No its traditional. Means Christmas in Greek or the lord saves. It's a lovely traditional
Unpretentious name. I have one and chose it because I like both Joshua and Josh.

Sophronia · 02/04/2017 00:10

No, it's nice

pieceofpurplesky · 02/04/2017 00:18

He will be one of many.
How about Jonah/Joe?

gluteustothemaximus · 02/04/2017 00:22

I love that name. Don't think it's boring.

Buntysoven · 02/04/2017 00:32

Really lovely name

TheBookIsOnTheTable · 02/04/2017 00:56

Solid and strong rather than boring, in my opinion.

Sunshineandlaughter · 02/04/2017 01:00

No - love it

BackforGood · 02/04/2017 01:16

I too think it is a lovely 'proper' name.
Easy to spell. Easy to pronounce.
Not particularly 'fashionable' in terms of it being identifiable to a particular 3 or 4 years.
Common enough you can find it on 'personalised' mugs / hats / keyrings / toys / etc.

thefraggleontherock · 02/04/2017 01:20

I'm biased because I have a Josh (Joshua on BC) but I don't think it's boring at all.like others have said in my opinion it's a lovely, solid name. All 3 of my s have v traditional names though.

grufallosfriend · 02/04/2017 07:29

Not sure if I'd call it boring, but I don't like the sound of it, especially the Josh part.

Rockaby · 02/04/2017 08:41

Not boring, but well used. I'm not that keen on it but that's nothing to do with its popularity.

dementedma · 02/04/2017 08:43

Joshua is nice but personally not keen on Josh.

Carrotpuree · 02/04/2017 08:46

It's not boring but DS will bring home drawings etc labelled Joshua S. Our's is only 4 and is already Joshua C. Mine was a very popular name when I grew up & I'd hoped to save our children from being one of many but it fits him perfectly and you can find toys with his name on.

Dontrocktheboat · 02/04/2017 09:07

I don't know any little Joshuas. I know of one who is 10 belonging to a colleague. Think it peaked about 15 years ago! I know more small Jonahs to be honest! I quite like it, prefer the full name to josh.

AGrinWithoutACat · 02/04/2017 09:12

My Josh is definitely not boring Grinand is the only one in his class

FannyUmbongo · 02/04/2017 09:15

Yes, and Joshing means taking the piss around here.

Jaynebxl · 02/04/2017 09:17

It's a nice solid name but there are an awful lot around although as a pp said, it probably peaked about 15 years ago, or maybe a bit less.

Brighteyes27 · 02/04/2017 10:04

My Josh/Joshua is at secondary now and is the only one out of his 120 year group so it's not too common. Personally I would rather have a strong solid classic traditional unpretentious name like this than some of the more pretentious slightly effeminate or ridiculous sounding names I see sometimes bandied about on here at times.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 02/04/2017 11:05

I like it OP.

Underthemoonlight · 02/04/2017 11:10

No it's not I have a Joshua and I find it rude when people say it's boring it's a timeless classical name. I rather give my child a decent name not something ridiculous that will raise eyebrows I 100% agree with bright eyes

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 02/04/2017 12:12

I like Joshua.

But I admittedly dislike Josh...

What about Jonah? Jonathan? Joram?

daisypond · 02/04/2017 12:13

All the Joshuas I know are now in their early 20s. For me, it's a boys' name of the 1990s. I wouldn't call it classic and timeless.
