Its my brothers name. He is 31. He never really had problems with people spelling it Aiden.

Spells Nadia backwards... not my favourite I must admit, but due to ex-colleague...

I love it, I have one.

I really like it but don't like the nn 'Aid' which both Aidan's I know have.

I find it a bit meh.

My DD is Aiden.. never had any issues with the spelling . Was the only boys name me and DH could agree on.
13 years ago it wasn't too popular but I know loads of them now spelt both ways

Your DD curky?

Report
BikeRunSki · 13/03/2017 13:28

Ha! curly. Sorry.

Aidan is my DFs name so yes I think it's nice

Oysterbabe · 13/03/2017 20:04

I hate it.
Might be slightly biased by having an ex with that name who was an utter cunt.

OoIt's a good solid name. Easy to shout. Too many

Doh.
It's a good solid name. Easy to shout. Too many people try to tell me it's spelt wrong!

I have long loved Aidan. Probably because of Aidan Quinn.

Fairly popular here in Scotland but not overly so.

Report
EsmesBees · 13/03/2017 20:20

I'm not a fan. It's a bit harsh sounding to me.

I really like the sound of it, but might spell it a bit differently. Aden perhaps.

But alas I have a cousin who is a complete waster manchild by that name so bad association for me!

I love Aidan. It's a lovely anglicisation of the Irish Aodhán.

Report
badtime · 14/03/2017 11:46

I also know an Aedan (or possibly Áedán), which is an older spelling, and much less common.

One of the nice things about this name is that it is strong and unpretentious, no one could find it embarrassing and it goes really well with most surnames making an attractive totality, go for it!

AtlantaGinandTonic · 14/03/2017 11:49

I like it. I suggested it to a friend who was having a boy but she wasn't as keen!

Report
Purplebluebird · 14/03/2017 11:51

Was on my short list actually, love it!

Report
TheScottishPlay · 14/03/2017 11:55

It's popular in my DS (13) peer group here in Scotland. So much stronger and dignified than the Jayden, Haydn, Kayden brigade.

Report
Sansculottes · 14/03/2017 11:58

Only being honest in case it helps but I really dislike this name. I dislike the sound and everything about it.

I do associate it with the Kaiden, Jayden type

But I'm sure many wouldn't like my kids' names so go with what you love

I love it! Was on our shortlist Smile

Though I think I've always thought of it spelt Aiden though I'm not sure why...
Aidan looks nicer and seems to be the 'right' spelling.

I don't like it I'm afraid. Sorry.
