I love...
-Delilah (nn Lilah)
-Pearl
-Betsy (given name Elizabeth)
-Valentine
-Emmeline (nn Emmy)

DH dislikes all except Emmeline, which he thinks is only ok. But he has no suggestions of his own.

You can be harsh Wink

Mary is lovely and much nicer than any on your list. Sorry.

finagler · 12/03/2017 12:20

All the others sound like American hick names from the 19th century.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 12/03/2017 13:09

I agree Mary is lovely, and under used.
Mary Emmeline
Emmeline Mary
Lilah Mary
Not keen on Cecily.

ChippieBeanAndHorro · 12/03/2017 13:47

Emmy, Betsy, and Cecily do sound like sisters. :)

My favourite is Elizabeth (I unfortunately can't use it). One of the very few genuinely classic and timeless name imo, it isn't overused at all and there are so many adorable nicknames (I really like Effie, Bess, Betsy, Bizzie, Buffy, Izzy, Tess, Tibby, Zibby, Zizi, Bucky, Beth etc... But my favourite nicknames are probably Effie, Bucky, Buffy and Izzy)

Shoot, I think I just convinved myself to put Elizabeth on my list. oops.

Uhm, yes, back to you, OP Blush

Mary is nice. But Elizabeth is much nicer imo.

EsmesBees · 12/03/2017 13:51

Cecily is lovely. As is Emmeline but I'm put off using it because of the potential confusion with Emily.

Delia
Della
Cecelia

I love Emmeline.

I'd be put off Delilah due to the song being about the murder of a woman by a jealous man.
