Rebecca will definitely become Becky

other posters and I have already said we know people called Rebecca who are never called Becky. I think "definitely" is a bit of an exaggeration.

Outing myself here, but I am a Rebecca and have been called Becky a handful of times in my entire life. I just politely correct people - Becky really doesn't suit me!

I love my name. I get called Bec, Bex, Becca, Betty even, but never ever Becky. People rarely presume to give people nicknames without checking IME. People always say "are you a Becky or a Becca" and I say "I don't really get called Becky but do get x, y or z".

I have a charlotte (Lottie) and a Matilda (Tilly)

Out your list I like Emma, it's still not that common in my area and quite underrated (imo anyway)

I'm called Rebecca, I've never had it shortened.

There was four in my old year group at school and only one got Becky.

If you want Ruby from Rebecca you could just call her Ruby. It's a lovely name in its own right. Best of luck recovering and picking a name.

Hi I just wanted to update that we registered her today and have chosen Lucy Rebecca. I know we said we had knocked Lucy off the list as we call our eldest Lottie but we decided it suited her most and Lottie is Charlotte so their initials are different when it comes to official stuff.

Rebecca nn Reba is great. I liked Frances best from your original list but think they're all nice choices.

Emilia is also lovely, and I particularly love Emmeline.

Ahh lovely choice OP. I think Lucy is one of those rare names that suits babies/children and also works well for a grown woman.
