Girls name - if I like... ...?

We have 2x DS already and a long list of lovely boys names, but am totally lost with girls names. So many that I would use I can't for various reasons.

So far we can only really agree on Juno, but its just not quite perfect. I think it feels a bit too hard sounding, as well as a little try hard (although I do like slightly less common names, as long as they are 'real' names!)

Other names I love but can't use or don't love enough:
Cleo (Love - but know 2 little Cleos that will before long be in DS2s school class)
Phaedra (Don't like her story)
Phoebe (Really love it but too many around here, and DH not keen. Is it super popular?)
Remi (People seem to think its a boys name, plus DS1 has 4 letter name ending in i so maybe too similar)
Paloma (not right, too try hard?)
Nura (We have arabic boys names but haven't found one that's quite righ for a girl)

Middle names will be Penelope and/or Maria

We are having a girl but if she was a he we love all of the following:

Otis
Rudy
Asa
Francis
Arlo
Elias

So MN, find me a name - or convince me to love one that I have already mentioned!

Athena?

PersisFord · 16/02/2017 16:59

I know what you mean about the supermarket BTW.....my girls have pretty OTT names and when I have to shout for them in soft play I do get some looks....

smilingsarahb · 16/02/2017 17:03

Calla is a lovely name.
I knew a Kamala once and thought that was lovely
Juno is a great name anyway.

ilovetosleep · 16/02/2017 17:04

I think we're down to Calla or Juno.
Or Anna
Still love Phoebe and Cleo but just can't get past their popularity

hiimmumma · 16/02/2017 17:09

Also - there are 2 baby Annas at our baby sensory group, I think it's going to be a popular one this year x

I have a Juno! Love it obviously but I do sometimes worry it's a bit "try hard" too... Calla is gorgeous. Never met one or heard of one but have heard of 2 other Junos so that might be picking up too if you're worried about popularity.

Iona
Luna
Anya
Cora
Svea
Noor (Arabic, love this)
Fia
Zoya
Annika

Jooni · 16/02/2017 17:29

Also, I love Cleo too and think you should use it if you love it that much! Phoebe is pretty but yes, quite popular. Cleo really isn't even if you personally know a couple. It's a lovely, quirky but "proper" name IMO.

skinnyamericano · 16/02/2017 17:30

Ottilie?

LittleMum91 · 16/02/2017 17:33

I like Anna! Girls names on our list-
Gracie
Jenny
Piper

ilovetosleep · 16/02/2017 17:48

Love Anya but DH works with one so won't use it!
I really don't think I could use cleo. But I'll keep it in mind and see how I feel about it nearer the time....

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 16/02/2017 19:06

Bloody phone!!!! DIDN'T lisp!

ilovetosleep · 16/02/2017 19:27

I quite like Esther. I like Sadie but know a few adult Sadies and can't quite get my head around a child called Sadie. Quite like Katia too but we have one close in the family. I just can't feel 100% about any girls name, this is so hard! I so wish I could call her Isis. It's the only girls name I have always gone back to over the years. Never going to happen!

Just looked at the Arabic name list and quite like Nayla (N-eye-la).
