Retro Baby Girl Names- help!

I'm 37 weeks and in a bit of a panic about baby names.

We were totally in love with the name Pippa.... then found out it translates as something rude 😩in a lot of other countries. I still love the name, but can't bring myself to use it.

We are really disappointed and are totally stuck on names. Current contenders are:

Nina
Matilda
Ida
Beatrice
Margot

But we haven't got the same "Pippa" love for any of them. Any opinions or retro names suggestions are very much welcome. For some reason I feel like I can't bring her into the world nameless! Very stressed!

Middle name will be Sue after my mum x

Register her as Philippa but call her Pippa day to day? Philippa then gives her the option to use that if she ever decides to live in Greece/Denamark etc

I've heard this too! Weird as I knew loads of girls called Pippa at school and uni and nobody ever commented .

Another vote for Philippa on BC, Pippa at home so she has the choice.

Of your other choices I like Ida. How about Ada, Iris, Miriam, Felicity?

Nina is absolutely gorgeous and I would think closest in vibe to Pippa.

Quite like Ida too - be aware that in many countries it would be pronounced ee-da rather than eye-da as in the UK. That may not be a problem though. However I do see why you gave up on Pippa!

I love Sue as a middle name or part of the first name. Like Leila-Sue or something. So cute.

I like lots of the suggestions above, but what about something that actually sounds like Pippa? Pepper, Pippi, Poppy?

Poppy is lovely. From your list I think Nina has the same sort of feel that Pippa does. Ida is cool and unusual.

I love Pippa too but have the same reservations as you and I don't think I'd actually use it as a result - such a shame! Pippi is almost as bad unfortunately - means "pee" in quite a few languages.

I have no idea what Pippa means in Greek, Italian or Danish, but Are you Greek/Italian/Danish? Do you have many Greek/Italian/Danish friends? Do you plan on spending time in Greece/Italy/Denmark?

The dubious alternative meaning doesn't seem to have done Pippa Hamilton any harm. And 2 friends of mine (40s/early 50s).

Amelia is very popular despite meaning "without limbs"; Also Claudia (lame) and Candida.
