My OH is currently expecting our second. Our DD (Orla) is nearly 2.

We're starting to discuss names & if it's a boy, we both like Ezra. Trouble is that our surname starts with a 'RA'. So the two names kind of run in to each other. I was just wondering what people think and if this is a bit of a mouthful?

Other options are Max (but not sure we like either Maxwell or Maximilian) and Reuben (not sure about the alliteration either).

Thanks for the suggestions user

George, Joseph, Daniel and Arthur are all in the family. Without divulging too much, Sean and Henry are my names!!! I do like Theodore though (Teddy for short?)

Love Ezra but I did think Esther Ranson as well (sorry!). Max is lovely, as is April x

I laughed and thought of Esther too. Sorry

I think Theodore works really well with you're surname and the nickname Teddy/Ted are cute for when he's small 😊.
Have you got a middle name chosen?

Sranso · 08/02/2017 09:20

Middle name would be Peter, for sentimental reasons

Ok few other suggestions for you

Nathaniel Peter

Maxim Peter Ranson (Max Ranson)
Jude Peter Ranson (Jude Ranson)
Theodore Peter Ranson (Teddy/Theo Ranson)
Elijah Peter Ranson (Eli Ranson)

I vote Theodore

I think I'm leaning towards Max or Jude.

Spoke to the OH last night and decided on April Isobel for a girl. We have a few months but I'm desperate to have it sorted because it was so stressful naming DD, we didn't decide until after she was born

I prefer Jude Peter Ranson. I think the repeating 'a' sound in Max and Ranson is a bit much.
April Isobel is very sweet goes well with Orla. When are you due?

GooseFriend · 08/02/2017 18:35

Yes Esther rantzon is the first thing I thought and Ruben ranson is s right mouth ful

Joel and max are good

Sophronia · 08/02/2017 22:47

Jude Peter Ranson would be lovely

Bringbacksummer · 08/02/2017 22:54

I have a female friend called Jude (short for Judith but she is only ever known as Jude). I'm not massively keen on unisex names so that's an offput to me. I know it's more often a boys name but she's not the only female Jude I know so something to bare in mind although that really may not be an issue to you at all.

Abrahamkin · 09/02/2017 07:25

Would children of his age even know who she is? (and potentially even their parents?!)

KlingybunFistelvase · 09/02/2017 07:41

I love Jude!

buttercup54321 · 09/02/2017 23:31

Esther Rantzen springs to mind!!! Max is much better.

NuffSaidSam · 10/02/2017 00:34

I love Reuben and Jude, but with your surname it has to be Jude. April is lovely as well.

Or go with Ezra because I'd love my DC to be at school with a Noah Edmund and an Ezra Ranson.
