Stonewash · 12/01/2017 14:56

caffelatte100 · 12/01/2017 14:57

Freedom2017 · 12/01/2017 15:04

Yes quite nice. I only know one in her 30s.

PaintingOwls · 12/01/2017 15:29

Retro! I like it :)

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 12/01/2017 15:31

My very best friend is a Melissa, so I'm biased, but I think it's a beautiful name due a comeback.

I prefer it to Melody. I only think of My Little Pony when I hear Melody.

LittleIda · 12/01/2017 15:33

I like Melissa but not keen on Melody. I'm not keen on the Mel shortening

MarmiteDoesYouGood · 12/01/2017 15:34

I like Melody but not keen on Melissa.

TheNaze73 · 12/01/2017 15:35

Melissa is a beautiful name. Not keen on Melody

MiddlingMum · 12/01/2017 16:34

Freedom perhaps you know the Melissa I know Smile She's lovely, and it's a lovely name.

Not keen on Melody though.

ElornaElephant · 12/01/2017 16:44

Ooh I like it! I don't know any myself, especially no under 5s but it's definitely due a comeback. Prefer it to Melody, think it's much more timeless.

ClaryIsTheBest · 12/01/2017 16:48

I prefer it to Melody.

However, DD is Clarissa which is kind of a similar style name (imo) so I'm probably a bit biased. I just like names like that ;)

Oblomova · 12/01/2017 16:51

Melissa for me is horrifically dated - in the sense that it's not been gone long enough to seem fresh again. I was born in the early 70s and was at school with several, along with the inevitable Carols, Karens, Gemmas etc.

Violetcharlotte · 12/01/2017 16:56

Lovely x

LimpidPools · 12/01/2017 16:59

I love Melissa. Shortening Lissie.

Achangeisadgoodasarest · 12/01/2017 17:22

Outing myself here. I have a Melissa, mid teens. We call her Millie for short, as I'm not keen on Mel and she won't answer to Missy Grin

She's not the only one at her secondary school either. So it's not completely unheard of.

EllaHen · 12/01/2017 17:24

I've always liked Melissa.

LittleIda · 12/01/2017 17:56

Millie is a good idea for a shortened version.
