What do you think of our boy & girls name?

Really love this name but had some really negative opinions. It's the only name we both like and I've set my heart on it. Am I setting him up for and lifetime of teasing?

Girls we have a few more options but I don't know which is my favourite;

Delilah
Ivy
Edith (nn Edie)

Thank you:)

Rigsby in Rising Damp was a Rupert he hated it too

ScarletSienna · 09/01/2017 15:35

I know two young Ruperts and don't feel the name stands out. I like it. Also like Edith. Really dislike Seth.

averythinline · 09/01/2017 15:36

Not keen on Rupert prefer Rufus or Seth ...i know what you mean about Sef but even where round here where the 'th' is almost extinct the the one I know is pronounced with the 'th'

Of the girls Edith/Edie would be my favourite

Jooni · 09/01/2017 18:27

I love Rupert, much nicer than Seth which I've never really seen the appeal of.

I like Delilah too, and Ivy (getting popular though) and Edith (but not keen on Edie).

stoopido · 09/01/2017 21:33

I love Delilah, I don't care about the bible associations ...I am not religious and the song does't bother me, I doubt any child in a playground would have ever heard the song before.
I like Edie but not Edith
I like Ivy but not Rupert.

buttercup54321 · 10/01/2017 23:48

Not Rupert the Bear or Delilah. Eden? Ivy ok .

MotherofA · 11/01/2017 00:07

It's lovely ! Who cares what anyone else thinks anyway ?
DP and I aren't telling anyone our baby name until she arrives because no one will tell us they don't like it then hahaha well that's the theory !
At least you aren't calling him McDonalds or something equally bizarre ... Grin

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 11/01/2017 00:12

I love Seth. Rupert, while cute, I just can't see on, like, a 12 year old.

I like Ivy best of the girls.

Staranise123 · 11/01/2017 09:37

Rupert is lovely and so much nicer than Seth which has such an ugly sound imo.

Happilymarried155 · 11/01/2017 11:29

Thanks everyone! Great to have the feedback the good and the bad 😀 I will let you know when it arrives xx

Delilah is gorgeous!

BertrandRussell · 11/01/2017 11:52

Do you actually want about 50% of people bursting into song when they hear your baby's name?

BertrandRussell · 11/01/2017 11:53

Particularly a song with that theme?

PaintingOwls · 11/01/2017 11:58

Delilah is a great and uncommon name. Ivy looks like you're trying to jump on the Evie bandwagon but are trying to be different. Edith is nice but I hate the nn.

17caterpillars1mouse · 13/01/2017 16:38

I love Rupert! From your girls list I like Ivy. I really dislike Delilah

marmitecheesetoast · 13/01/2017 17:45

I like Rupert, it's a nice classic name, although it is seen as a bit posh. If you like it go though go i'd say go for it.

I love Edith for a girl

KanyeWesticle · 13/01/2017 18:18

I like Rupert okay, but I love Reuben.
Edith is my favourite of the girls. Love it!

Kittykatmacbill · 13/01/2017 22:11

I have an Edith! Lovely name :-). It is fairly popular thought do know of about 6 across the city all under 5. Don't know any Ivys, and Delilah is a terrible terrible name. Sorry.

Rupert is nice though, don't think it would standout.

Waterfeature · 13/01/2017 23:00

Seth is dreamy.

Love Edith.

Not so much the others.

Izzyathome · 14/01/2017 01:12

Edith nn Edie is my favourite of your girl's names. Love it. Also like Delilah. Ivy is a bit meh for me, nice enough though.

I'm not keen on Rupert, a little bit wet for me. But a cool kid could pull it off I think? I like Roo as a baby nn. (Prefer Rufus?)
