V hipster. But I quite like it.

CrowyMcCrowFace · 30/12/2016 21:55

Love it.

TroysMammy · 30/12/2016 21:57

My Grandmother was an Edith, always known as Edie which I prefer. Edith is a good name to use when she needs a telling off Smile.

Good thinking troysmammy

I think it's lovely.

Love it. Can imagine it equally for a wee baby or a chair of a FTSE 100 company. Cool and classic.

(Disclaimer: sure you'd never guess this would be my first choice for any future born DD)

Blossomdeary · 30/12/2016 22:03

It is lovely - I had a clutch of maiden aunts and grandmothers called Edith, Ethel, Annie, Emily, Agnes etc. - lovely Victorian names - there were 10 of them! I had a job telling one from the other TBH - they were all tall and thin with white hair - take your pick!

Ohyesiam · 30/12/2016 22:03

Pretty

NannyR · 30/12/2016 22:08

I love Edith - I think it's a cool, elegant name and Edie is lovely as a nickname. I think with these sort of names though, it comes down to personal taste - what is cool and elegant to one person is old-ladyish and fuddyduddy to another.

TheOldestCat · 30/12/2016 22:16

Love it.

Bibs2014 · 30/12/2016 22:25

Hate it

twinjocks · 30/12/2016 22:41

Love it.

Newtoday · 30/12/2016 22:42

Absolutely stunning

SausageSoda · 30/12/2016 23:16

Love both Edith and Edie.

Yika · 30/12/2016 23:30

Love it. I find it elegant rather than granny-chic.

sarahbanshee · 30/12/2016 23:34

I have an Edith! She's awesome Smile People tend to have strong reactions - they either love it, or they swallow hard and say "interesting name...Confused". But I adore it, to me it's strong and self confident and brave.

happystory · 30/12/2016 23:36

I love it, and Edie too

gammatron · 30/12/2016 23:37

Love it, will be high in my list if I have a dd!

DorcasthePuffin · 30/12/2016 23:37

I love it.

1horatio · 31/12/2016 00:21

I don't like it.

I personally think it's ugly and it's also rather popular.

But I like Esther. So, I'm probably just weird.

Philoslothy · 31/12/2016 00:31

It is lovely

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2016 00:37

I'm not keen on Edith, although I do like Edie.

I think I'm probably the wrong age to appreciate granny-chic names. If I was having children now instead of 20 years ago I'd probably really like it. To me it's a name from my mother's generation, so it seems old fashioned rather than fresh & cool.

TheresABluebirdOnMyShoulder · 31/12/2016 12:29

I think it's beautiful, a very versatile name. Cute for a baby, quirky for a teen and elegant for a grown up. But then it's what I called my DD so I would say that! We usually call her Edie though.

toffeeboffin · 31/12/2016 12:31

My SILS name.

Like it, but think you have to be quite chic / charismatic to carry it off. You'll know when you see baby's face.

CakeRattleandRoll · 31/12/2016 15:55

I like it.
