5 days old daughter - help us decide on her name

I had a little girl five days ago and am having a hard time deciding on her name.

We already have a boy and a girl (Liam and Katie) so it needs to be something that goes with that...

Current favourites are Nina or Josie, with other contenders Leah and Sadie.

She is a red head at the moment, and (if anything like other two will be strong willed).

What are people's preferences? Our surname is Bell if that makes a difference too?

tIA, sleep deprivation means making this decision feels crazy hard xx

Josie Leah, perfect! Congratulations :)

CalleighDoodle · 02/11/2016 21:14

How about josie lea (pro lee) instead of leah as it flows better

elpth · 02/11/2016 21:14

Katie (Morag) has a brother Liam and sister Flora Ann so stick with that family for inspiration and you must buy the Katie Morag books if you don't have them already
Gorgeous pic

Elph we love katie morag, I'm sure that's subconsciously why we called our son liam. But not so sure re flora ann

Awwww, she could be a Florence. For some reason that seems to suit her.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 02/11/2016 23:05

Congratulations Flowers

I think Nina is the best of your options, but I'd choose Niamh as her name. She's beautiful, it's beautiful and it fits well with her siblings' names. Niamh Patricia, that's just lovely.

MargoChanning · 02/11/2016 23:20

I think Leah and Sadie could sound too much like Liam and Katie if you were shouting out to get your kids attention, if you know what I mean.

If she's going to be a redhead, how about Rita after the beautiful red headed actress Rita Hayworth?

MargoChanning · 02/11/2016 23:26

Oops, just read your post again, not sure Rita Bell goes well either - sounds like Ring a Bell!

Some suggestions:

Josephine Bell
Felicity Bell
Matilda Bell
Olivia Bell
Hermione Bell
Sophie Bell
Ruby Bell

I think first names with a couple of syllables or more go well with short surnames.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/11/2016 07:53

Maisie
Roxie
Darcie
Lucie
Heidi
Rosie
Marnie

DeepInFrance · 03/11/2016 07:55

Another vote for Nina. And big congratulations!

GizmoFrisby · 03/11/2016 07:57

I love Sophia
I wanted to call my little one Sophia however her cousin is a Sophie and thought they would think I copied them
She is now a Niamh Hmm

SorenaJ · 03/11/2016 08:22

She looks like a Nina (or Ruby or Florence as someone else has suggested)

CakeRattleandRoll · 03/11/2016 08:34

Love Nina and Josephine nn Josie.

sartra · 03/11/2016 08:38

Sadie is lovely. I haven't heard of many babies called Sadie. How about Sadie Josephine bell. Goes together nicely Smile

Bin85 · 03/11/2016 08:39

Josephine(Josie )because if she and her sister prefer they can be Jo and Kate when they are older .

AmaDablam · 03/11/2016 08:54

Josephine Leah. I like names with lots of possibilities, so you could use the nn Josie to start with, then she can use Jo, Jojo or the full name as she chooses as she gets older. I think Josie and Katie together is fine. Sadie and Katie would be OK too I think, but slightly more similar sounding. Liam and Leah a definite no.

Shemozzle · 03/11/2016 10:48

I don't understand the problem with Katie and Sadie but do have a problem with Leah and Liam and am really surprised others haven't all said the same. They are practically the same name!

I love Josie/Josephine the most, followed by Sadie and Nina.

ruthietoothie · 03/11/2016 18:40

Thanks for all the suggestions and thoughts. This is super tricky. Have def ditched Leah so it's now between Sadie, Nina and Josie. If it were just me making decision would probably go for Sadie but my partner not so keen. His favourite is Nina which I do really like though doesn't have shortening options that Josie has....

Argh!!

I love love LOVE Sadie Bell. Such a beautiful ring to it.

Congratulations :)

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 03/11/2016 22:23

Sadie or Josie definitely.

Anything but Nina really.

Congratulations on your beautiful new baby Flowers.

septembersunshine · 05/11/2016 03:08

Nina I think. Or Lucy (not listed I know but she looks a bit like that could also be her name). Although I know a grown up Sadie and it's always struck me has a cool name...although you can't really do anything with it. Josie is great too and I love the grand and grown up Josephine. That is a name that could carry you anywhere. Hard decision op!

OhTheRoses · 05/11/2016 10:15

Josephine, nn Jo or Jo Jo works. I have a Jewish heritage and for me Sadie is the wrong dynamic for Liam and Katie as well as the "ie" endings. Have you thought about Sybil.

LoveInTokyo · 06/11/2016 15:47

Josephine (Josie for short).

Congrats Flowers
