Brother to Edmund and Merlin.

Thoughts?

Sounds like an Oirish comedy character in an old movie (I'm Irish). That's my first thought...

SpeakNoWords · 28/10/2016 01:55

I don't think it goes with the other two names, it's quite Irish sounding and long. Would you use Finn day to day? Mer-lin and Finn is a bit rhyme-y too.

BendyBusBuggy · 28/10/2016 01:56

I love it

notangelinajolie · 28/10/2016 01:57

Judy

sycamore54321 · 28/10/2016 01:59

Gosh no. I think it's horrid as a surname, all those short syllables piling on top of each other, and infinitely worse as a first name. Plus 'Finegans Wake' and all those cultural references.

RubyRubes25 · 28/10/2016 02:00

Speak, I use Mer a lot (like Murr (I know it's part of his surname, but to give you sound example) off Impractical Jokers) so it would be Ed, Mer and Finn...

choli · 28/10/2016 02:08

Good Lord no!

GruochMacAlpin · 28/10/2016 02:22

My Grandmother taught it to me OP. And my children's Grandmother taught it to them.

It's still well known so it's something to consider.

NotWeavingButDarning · 28/10/2016 02:25

..and blew them in agin

notangelinajolie · 28/10/2016 02:29

Poor...

choli · 28/10/2016 02:33

If the name is chosen to honor a family member, I guess it is not too bad, but if you are just pulling it out of your ass to be "unique" it is truly awful.

HappyCamel · 28/10/2016 02:35

Any other ideas OP?

RubyRubes25 · 28/10/2016 02:45

Why is it whenever someone likes something a bit different, it's seen as them trying to be unique? If I liked the top boys name, I'd use it. It's nothing to do with being unique. My child is unique, every human is!!

GruochMacAlpin · 28/10/2016 03:16

Well... if you like old names and unusual names what about Wulf?

RubyRubes25 · 28/10/2016 03:19

Love Wulfric!

IsFeidirLiom · 28/10/2016 03:19

Love it! It's great.

I'm Irish. I like it as a first name.

Don't know that nursery rhyme - but there is always a nursery rhyme or a song or a famous person to put you off if you look for one. Wouldn't let it stop me!

OlennasWimple · 28/10/2016 03:22

I love Wulfric. Finnegin is a surname for me, not a first name

HappyCamel · 28/10/2016 03:27

Wulfric is great; unusual and traditional at the same time.

TallulahTheTiger · 28/10/2016 03:43

....Old Michael...
