How many Judes under-5 do you know?

And where do you live? I only ask as I don't know any, but just saw a comment on another thread along the lines of "not another baby Jude - I know at least 5 now...".

I'm just interested really - it's on our list and while popularity isn't the key criteria I would prefer it if DS (if it is a DS) is not going to be one of 5 in his class.

None.

The only Judes I know are in their 40s/50s and are female.

Chinlo · 14/10/2016 11:58

It's number 61 in most recent top 100 boys names so there will be a fair number of them about

Yep, one in every 333 boys born that year. Not really that many in my opinion.

Statistics never lie, OP!! Grin

Bumfluff3000 · 14/10/2016 12:10

Ha ha I think I can cope with 1 in 333!!

Thanks all :)

MerryMarigold · 14/10/2016 12:21

Kathysclown · 14/10/2016 12:28

Dizzybintess · 14/10/2016 12:38

i know one he is 3 x - s wales

5moreminutes · 14/10/2016 12:44

Doesn't this name make everyone think of Jude the Obscure - one of the most miserable Hardy novels with its tragic main character and his desperately unhappy mentally ill son, also called Jude, who murders his infant siblings before killing himself whilst still a child...

It seems the most ill fated name ...

To answer your questions I don't know any, of any age, though :o

I heard a mum shouting to two small boys by the names of Jude and Cain to hurry up, at London Zoo several years ago, and they appeared to be her small sons... Shock Stayed in my mind as the oddest choice of names for a pair of brothers ever...

NerrSnerr · 14/10/2016 12:44

I don't know any.

Bumfluff3000 · 14/10/2016 12:57

Never read Jude the Obscure. So doesn't put me off in the slightest!

No... It's that reference that sounds obscure!

insancerre · 14/10/2016 13:13

I have only ever known one and I've worked in early years for 25 years, so I've met loads of children

MerryMarigold · 14/10/2016 14:57

I think of 'Hey, Jude' not Jude the Obscure.

n0ne · 14/10/2016 14:58

One, I live on the continent but his parents are UK expats

Bumbumtaloo · 14/10/2016 15:04

DD had 2 Jude's in her class (reception), both boys. We live in Oxfordshire.

I know another 3 Jude's of various ages - one in their 20's one in their late 30's and one 50+ 2 men one woman.

BeardMinge · 14/10/2016 16:02

I think of Jude the Obscure, the most miserable of novels, but also Jude Law, who always seems like a bit of a shag happy sleaze.

I know of a few, North London, all under 5.

ShowOfHands · 14/10/2016 17:04

I think of Jude the Obscure immediately. It's a brilliant but harrowing book.

MoonHare · 14/10/2016 17:30

None.

Minty82 · 14/10/2016 20:31

Yes, I think of Jude the Obscure - both the novel and the Oxford pub! And Jude Law.

DerelictMyBalls · 15/10/2016 09:33

Never met one.

DixieExter · 15/10/2016 09:37

I don't know any, of any age. Midlands.
