How to make this name work with my surname?

I have always loved the name Lily and am set on using it. However, my surname is Lee and I just can't use Lily Lee, surely?

I don't like Lillian, and I don't think Lillian Lee sounds much better anyway...

How can I make Lily work with this last name?!

I'm not normally a fan of hyphenated names, especially the ones involving Lily (sorry), but I think there is actually a really cool, country and western sort of vibe about Lily-Grace Lee!

Alternatively, I like Lilith, Liliana or Delilah with the nn Lily. Delilah could be Lilah too which I also like. I also like Anna as an alternative shortening for Liliana.

I think Lily Lee is a great name! Alliterative names are always very memorable, IMHO Smile

FlameGrower · 11/10/2016 14:57

Great Garbo is a great alliterative name. Lily Lee though just sounds like Lilyly.

FlameGrower · 11/10/2016 14:57

Greta Garbo even Smile

Hi Pluto, I love LilyJo, and it doesn't spoil Lily, but goes with Lee, if that makes sense.

Hurricane99 · 11/10/2016 21:24

Lila Lee
Lilah Lee
Lyra Lee

DailyMailPenisPieces · 12/10/2016 09:05

Go for it if you like it. I think Liliana Lee sounds amazing (nn Lily). Lilibet Lee sounds a bit like Lily Betley.

Confusednotcom · 12/10/2016 09:11

If you like it I'd stick with Lily Lee.
Lee is such a common suffix it starts sounding strange with anything if you overanalyse it.
There is probably a Frank Lee out there :)

Buffythebabywearer · 12/10/2016 09:19

Lilith Lee?

I don't think Lily Lee is ok however much you love it - as said, it sounds like leeleelee.

SoupDragon · 12/10/2016 09:19

Lily Lee is a bit mad (it's basically Lee Lee Lee!)

This.

Some alliterative names sound great, this one sounds silly.

It's like David Vid, Lucy Sea...

Pluto30 · 12/10/2016 21:17

Thanks everyone. Smile

Looks like we've got some thinking to do! Husband is quite taken with Lillian now, but I'm still not sure...

I think Lilian is a gorgeous name, and very underused!

SlinkyB · 12/10/2016 21:23

Sorry but I don't like the sound of Lily Lee (lee-lee-lee).

What about Eliana?

LynetteScavo · 12/10/2016 21:24

Liliana is gorgeous, with lily for short

Beebeeeight · 12/10/2016 21:29

Usse another surname.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 13/10/2016 10:26

Change the surname or change the first name. You really cannot call a child Lily Lee. Or even Lilian Lee if you're planning on calling her Lily Lee day to day. It sounds so ridiculous.

Merrilymerrilymerrily · 13/10/2016 15:59

I know an Olivia nicknamed Lily

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/10/2016 17:47

OP, just wanted to say that Lilian Lee, is lovely 😄

Pluto30 · 14/10/2016 00:01

It seems to be a real divide between people who think it's fine, or Lillian is nice, and people who think it's awful. Grin

I really love Lily Mae Lee and Lilian Lee sounds really classic. I agree though Lily Lee does not work it is much too samey. What was you maiden name. Could you double barrell.

Purplebluebird · 14/10/2016 07:42

Where I'm from, Lillianne is a popular name. Maybe an option? Lily Grace sounds lovely too though :)

neonrainbow · 14/10/2016 07:44

Lilian Lee is good. Lily for day to day.

neonrainbow · 14/10/2016 07:44

Or Lilianne is nice?

Ladybunnyfluff · 14/10/2016 07:45

I've met about 3 Charles Lees which were known as Charlie. So therefore Charlie Lee sounding Char-lee-lee so... I do not think you have too much of an issue.

Confusednotcom · 14/10/2016 12:42

Elizabeth Lee nn Lily sounds amazing.
