In order:
Fergus
Gilbert
Hugo

AmysTiara · 11/10/2016 21:46

Hugo. Definitely not Percy.

cheekyfunkymonkey · 11/10/2016 21:48

Gilbert is the best one on your list

SarcasmMode · 11/10/2016 22:05

Hugo

BertrandRussell · 11/10/2016 22:10

You can't possibly call a child Percy!

Hugo is a good name although I think Hugh is better.

Gilbert shortened to Gil is nice.

Ossian isn't pronounced that way in any of the countries it's used in, is it? Rupert and Torquil are short and for upper class twits-sad but true.

cosmicglittergirl · 11/10/2016 22:12

Hugo

Viviene · 11/10/2016 22:15

Patrick! I was supposed to be Patrick but turned out a girl (they didn't have scans back then ;-)

Gilbert is really nice, like In Green Gables :-) I really liked them as a couple!

Tardigrade001 · 11/10/2016 23:03

Gilbert or Hugo.

Alexthekid · 12/10/2016 04:29

Hugo James! Love it

groovergirl · 12/10/2016 06:12

Gilbert, because of Gilbert Blythe Wink

Where did Ossian come from? It pops up a lot in MN baby name threads. Please enlighten me in faraway Australia, where it's news to us.

CEOD · 12/10/2016 08:47

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Macpherson

So, I guess we would have had to ask James Macpherson how it's pronounced!!!

Hugo. Gilbert second. Rupert a very distant third.

Percy is slang for penis where I live; the Ossian I know pronounces it osh-an; and Torquil is just awful.

Pluto30 · 12/10/2016 09:07

groover I'm in rural Aus and went to school with an Ossian! Grin

CEOD · 12/10/2016 12:59

I just don't want it pronounced Ocean!

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 12/10/2016 13:04

Ossian, like the loch at Corrour
Or the Poet

Tarttlet · 12/10/2016 13:40

I don't like Ossian or Gilbert, but I do like Percy, Rupert and Hugo. Torquil sounds frightfully posh!

WineCheeseSleep · 12/10/2016 13:55

Percy Hugo and Rupert are my favourites. I love Percy, I think it's so cute. I don't think I'd use it myself but you seem braver with your name choices than me!

Lilacpink40 · 12/10/2016 13:56

Hugo

Happilymarried155 · 12/10/2016 15:19

Lovee Rupert that's on our list and our little boy has Gilbert as a middle name. Actually think Gilbert is a really good name with lots of room for nicknames aa they get older if they wish x

WindInThePussyWillows · 12/10/2016 15:20

Rupert Star

ToesToesToes · 12/10/2016 17:26

Tricky! Hugo and Rupert are on our list and we know a little Percy who is very cute.

I also really like Gilbert but DH is absolutely against that one! Good nicknames and Gilbert Blythe!!

PotteringAlong · 12/10/2016 17:31

Gilbert

UnicornPee · 12/10/2016 19:17

They are all horrid!! Sorry.

AmserGwin · 16/10/2016 09:37

I have an Osian (pronounced Osh-an) but were in Wales so no difficulty with pronunciation. It has become more popular recently though. My Osian is 10, and there seems to be quite a few little Osian's around now
