I knew a horrid one at school which puts me off it but if you like it then go for it! It has a nice ring to it X

INeedNewShoes · 25/08/2016 23:04

One of my neighbours is a little girl called Maisy. She really suits it.

But, I can't help but think it's one of those names that wouldn't work so well for grown up women with serious jobs.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 25/08/2016 23:05

It's cute and reminds me of Maisy Mouse. Not sure it's ideal for an adult professional person, which she will be one day, but that's just an opinion. Many people weren't too keen on my kids' names but it made no difference to me. Go for what you love!

Ditsy4 · 25/08/2016 23:05

I know someone who has a child called Maisie I love it.

Mausageandsash · 25/08/2016 23:06

Yes a agree shoes v cute for a baby but less mature, also forgot to add it could be associated with double barrelled names like Maisy-jane

ClockMakerSue · 25/08/2016 23:06

It's too cutesy for me-feels like a pet name.

What others are on your list?

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 25/08/2016 23:06

INeedNewShoes snap

tomatosheet · 25/08/2016 23:07

Seeing you're other DCs names draws me to it. That would go really well with them! X

INeedNewShoes · 25/08/2016 23:08

Somehow all three of those names work better for grown ups than Maisy, but I can't put finger on exactly what the issue is!

ClockMakerSue · 25/08/2016 23:08

I really like Ivy!

INeedNewShoes · 25/08/2016 23:09

Daisy & Maisy are a bit similar, don't you think?

If you shout to the end of the garden for one of them, the other one will think it's them you're after!

INeedNewShoes · 25/08/2016 23:10

Or do you mean those three names are also on your list rather than the names of your other children!?

CafeCremeMerci · 25/08/2016 23:10

I love Maisy.

But not with Daisy.

By the time this generation of kids become adults, there'll be loads of Maisy type names, it won't seem at all 'not adult/serious'.

tomatosheet · 25/08/2016 23:11

I was replying to the person who asked what else was on our list! We have a son named Harry.

It reminds me of Beatrix Potter's character Mrs Tiggywinkle, the hedgehog washerwoman.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 25/08/2016 23:14

Love Ivy! Star Star Star

KoalaDownUnder · 26/08/2016 04:24

I adore Ivy.

Maisy is too cutesy for my liking.

chattygranny · 26/08/2016 04:47

I prefer the traditional spelling Maisie somehow it looks more balanced.

GoldPlatedBacon · 26/08/2016 07:19

I like Maisy, I prefer that spelling. But I prefer Daisy and Darcy out of your list

TomDaleysTightTrunks · 26/08/2016 07:57

Don't like Maisy or Daisy, wet sounding and boring. I love Ivy or Darcy, more so Ivy.

GoldFishFingerz · 26/08/2016 07:59

Prefer Mary

Porcupinetree · 26/08/2016 08:21

Maisy sounds too cutesy.

wesH · 26/08/2016 08:54

Fine for a cutsey-poo sugar mouse

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 26/08/2016 11:04

I don't really like it. It's the kind of name that some poor old drudge who worked in a kitchen would have.
