NAME GAME TO HELP US ELIMINATE (please!)

Only a bit left until birth and DH has scrapped our potential names for a daughter. He has gone off Tilly, still likes Luna but I worry about teasing and Alice is too drippy for us both. So, in a desperate bid we've spent today searching for a name and I have a list of Billie-Rose, Martha, Polly (maybe), Liza (maybe), Ada, Nora, Bess, Minnie (maybe), Tess, Ida, Vivian, Elise and Lila.

My DH likes Winnie, Mabel, Edie, Marie, Mae and Faye. So, we would like for you to choose your two favourite names from our lists and please give us your reasons. We will go over the most popular and put them together. We don't want a very popular name but want something to go well with the other kids.
For boys, we can both agree that a son will be named Milo, Seth, Kerr, Remy, Ace, Leo or Cole. For middle names, we like Usain (yes, after Bolt) and King (after Nat King Cole).

Please help! I don't want to refer to her as Baby for the first weeks of her life and I would like the other kids to have a name to call her by.

Lo x

Tess and Faye

Love Vivienne (Vivian is too similar to Vyvyan Bastard from the Young Ones Wink)

Edie I like too (prefer Edith)

Only ones I dislike are Bess and Tess (names of more than one or two terriers I know), Billie-Rose and Winnie.

I also really quite like Nora but know my husband would veto it!

Fay and Nora are my favourites out of your lists.

I'm confused. Do you know gender?

Your last paragraph of theach first post is odd? [Sic] I don't want to refer to her as baby for the first few weeks. I want the other kids to have a name to call her by

Edie and Martha are my favourites

Martha and Nora

I love Tess and Winnie
I've known a couple of Tess'. It's a nice classic name which doesn't have any terrible nicknames.

dotdotdotmustdash · 20/08/2016 17:53

Elise (my favourite from your list), Tessa, Vivien, Lyla for girls, definitely Kerr for a boy.

Jooni · 20/08/2016 18:07

Girl: Martha or Polly. Love that these are fashionably vintage but not too twee. Martha is more popular; Polly is quite underused.

Boy: Milo and Leo. Leo is very popular but Milo is underused. I think these are the nicest of your boys' names; names like Kerr, Cole and Ace don't really do it for me - too macho and American-feeling.

I'd go with Polly or Milo personally. Good luck!

LoraLoves · 20/08/2016 20:36

No crunchy I just don't like calling her/him it!
Jooni, we are American linked so the names sort of make sense to us?

Atm, Elise, Tess and Ida are in the lead, so I'll make a thread about those!

My favourite from your list is Elise and from your husband's would be Marie. But I'd be tempted to go with Mary, nickname Polly which seems like it would work for both of you.
