MoreGilmoreGirls · 02/08/2016 22:51

Well I like it. It's not stupid. If you like it go for it. Grin

sonlypuppyfat · 02/08/2016 22:52

Yes go for it, give your son a stupid name he'll love it

AfroPuffs · 02/08/2016 22:52

If you're Italian, then yes.

marmitecrumpets · 02/08/2016 22:54

Love it

MyNewBearTotoro · 02/08/2016 22:56

Aside from the obvious Romeo & Juliet connection to me it just makes me think a 'Romeo' is a bit of a stud/ wanted by all the girls, a bit of a player etc. I think that unless your son is guaranteed to be rich/ famous (eg: Romeo Beckham) it could be a hard name to carry off. I could imagine a popular, handsome boy the girls all fancy managing to pull off the name Romeo but for an average boy, a boy who isn't a typical 'lad,' an academic boy etc it might lead to teasing etc.

If you like the Ro sound how about Ronan, Roman, Roland or Rowan? Or if you like the eo how about Leo or Theo?

MoreGilmoreGirls · 02/08/2016 22:59

There's no need to be rude, not everyone wants to be called something boring

orangebird69 · 02/08/2016 23:00

The Beckhams and one of So Solid Crew. So it's a No from me.

Heratnumber7 · 02/08/2016 23:01

No.

VoldysGoneMouldy · 02/08/2016 23:01

Horrible.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 02/08/2016 23:03

I like Roman.

sonlypuppyfat · 02/08/2016 23:07

Sure no one wants to be called something boring but no one wants to be ridiculed

SmallBee · 02/08/2016 23:07

I'm not a fan, the modern association is of a guy who gets around and is a heartbreaker, which I wouldn't like. The Shakespeare association is that on an idiotic, murdering and suicidal teenager so again not great.

But it does sound nice.

123beanie · 02/08/2016 23:07

Not too keen, maybe Roman instead?

HallaWalla · 03/08/2016 12:14

It's a no from me.

bombayflambe · 03/08/2016 12:17

...I prefer Mercutio to be honest. Equally bonkers but less popular ;-)

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/08/2016 12:18

I love the fact that OP specified it's for a boy.

Kalispera · 03/08/2016 12:22

In my teen dreamy Shakespeare phase I always wanted to name a boy Balthazar, Romeo's servant.

bombayflambe · 03/08/2016 12:24

I love the fact that OP specified it's for a boy
You have to specify now. Apparently the Americans have started using Aubrey as a girls name and there was a thread earlier in the week about how this is a completely normal. Any name can be for everyone now.

EssentialHummus · 03/08/2016 12:26

... Beckham

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 03/08/2016 12:27

Or it could be that someone just misspelt Audrey and needed up with an Aubrey.
