Hi we just can't decide. We know we want a name with Cornish connections. Our list is

Lowenna
Lamorna
Kerenza
Cordelia
Elowen

It will be our first :)

Demelza? Also I know of quite a few Sennen's down here, both girls and boys. It's not a Cornish name, but I love Rowena and the lady who built the Minack Theatre was called Rowena. Congratulations. Flowers

Are you looking for more or wanting votes on your list.
My favourite name is Morwenna with Veryan a close second.
Of your list, it is Lamorna.

Clarkgriswoldforever · 23/06/2016 22:14

Tegen? Means "pretty"

reynoldsnumber · 23/06/2016 22:14

I was going to say Veryan, or Tamsin

Janey50 · 23/06/2016 22:22

Jenna?

Janey50 · 23/06/2016 22:24

Jenna is a pet form of Guinevere.

Happy for views on the ones I posted and also suggestions.

DH thinks Veryan sounds more like a surname and not feminine but I quite liked it...

Morwenna always makes me think of Morwenna Banks and DH not keen

Is Sennan pronounced as written? No Sh- sound or anything? If so, it sounds identical to an Irish boy's name Senanayake, just in case that might be a problem for you.

I see Loveday listed above - how is it said? Is it as simple as the tow words Love-Day or entirely different?

I know next to nothing of Cornwall, some of these sound really pretty (but the spellings look slightly odd at first glance to my non-Cornish eyes).

OlennasWimple · 24/06/2016 03:40

Iseuld / Isolde is one of my favourite girls names

OutsiderInTheGarden · 24/06/2016 04:58

sycamore yes Sennen is pronounced as it's spelled, no 'sh' sound or anything. And the place Sennen is very beautiful, if you're visiting Cornwall anytime soon Smile.

Wow, I've seen some Irish names that have left me puzzled as to how to pronounce them, but I never would have thought that Senanayake was prounounced Sennen. So the 'ayake' bit isn't pronounced at all? Being Welsh, Cornish names and words don't look that odd to me; the languages have a lot in common.

sycamore54321 · 24/06/2016 05:32

Haha, just realized that was some crazy autocorrect or typo! It should be Senan - so same as yours without the double N in the middle. No idea where the "ayake" came from - especially since Irish doesn't have either a K or a Y! Sorry for throwing extra fuel on the hard-to-pronounce fire

BikeRunSki · 24/06/2016 05:40

Of your list, I like Kerenza best.

Other suggestions Zillah, Thomasin

rembrandtsrockchick · 24/06/2016 06:04

Tamar is pretty...as is the river and the valley.

LadyCallandraDaviot · 24/06/2016 23:38

Think they have already been suggested, but...

Merryn
Loveday
Tamsin
or you could choose a place, like the Camerons and Endillion

OlennasWimple · 25/06/2016 00:42

Tamar is awful, sorry!!

WreckingBallsInsideMyHead · 25/06/2016 19:37

Elowen is lovely

PeterandJudithSurname · 26/06/2016 14:55

I think Senanayake is a Sri Lankan surname . Grin

SoupDragon · 26/06/2016 15:00

From your list I love Kerenza. From other lists I love Merryn and Tegan.

Beanzmeanzcoffee · 26/06/2016 16:35

I've never heard the name Elowen before but it's beautiful (puts in back pocket in case baby 3 ever happens)

Footle · 26/06/2016 16:45

Damaris - stress on first syllable.

lemonjellytrifle · 26/06/2016 20:16

Also love Kerenza. There's a little Carenza (slightly different spelling but same pronunciation) at my son's nursery - called Carrie. Just lovely!

WoodleyPixie · 26/06/2016 20:17

Sarita is a fab name.
