I only like Claudia out of your list and the meaning wouldn't put me off.

MadameDePomPom · 03/06/2016 17:55

Claudia - favourite
Cordelia
Aurelia
Nina
Ophelia (I just want to say 'ophelia boobs' or something equally childish)

eatmytoes888 · 03/06/2016 18:42

Claudia is becoming very popular round here (SE) it is a pretty name though.

In order I like:

Cordelia
Ophelia

Your other children have beautiful names.

MumOnACornishFarm · 03/06/2016 19:47

I had no idea about the meaning of the name Claudia before this thread. Cannot say it would bother me though, as it's a beautiful name. But then I'm quite tempted to use Salome as a middle name if DC2 is a girl, so goodness knows what that says about me.

julfin · 03/06/2016 23:57

Ha ha OP your post at 14:24 today cracked me up!

FWIW, while I think Nina is a perfectly "nice" name, I think it's insufficiently intellectual/interesting as a name alongside your other DCs' names. It would be overshadowed. And there is the siren issue too, as you say... Mainly, I just think all your other options are really lovely/striking - much more so than nina. Nina would be fine (and in fact a better choice than some of your other options) if your other DCs' names were a bit more, well, ordinary.

ReginaTheVelociraptor · 04/06/2016 00:18

Nina or Cordelia.

Dogolphin · 04/06/2016 17:50

Could Nina be short for something?

Oriunda · 04/06/2016 18:12

Pretentious mum here who is also a Shakespeare fan.

If DS (who has a pretentious/marmite name) had been a girl, my shortlist was Persephone/Ophelia/Aurelia.

So from your list I'd go for Ophelia/Aurelia/Cordelia/Claudia/Nina in that order

FrameyMcFrame · 04/06/2016 18:17

Nina and the Neurons....

roarfeckingroar · 04/06/2016 18:18

Aurelia. I also love Aurelie.

IoraRua · 04/06/2016 19:00

Ranked in order of preference I have:

Nina - short, simple, travels well imo.
Aurelia - very pretty but less so than Nina

Ophelia - just reminds me of Hamlets poor girlfriend, not a positive link

Claudia - I really dislike, it's a heavy sounding name

Cordelia - overly posh and flouncy

muddypuddled · 04/06/2016 19:35

Aurelia, ophelia, Claudia, cornelia. If I were to have another daughter I would want aurelia or ophelia.

barbecue · 04/06/2016 19:57

Aurelia
Nina
Cordelia
Claudia
Ophelia

FloweryTwat · 04/06/2016 20:03

I have a Claudia (Claudi ususally).

Also liked Hermione, Evangeline, Persephone , Isadora (stiill pang after this sometimes) and Alexandra.

I like all your names, love Nina but think that is less well suited to other names. Unless you fancied Mina from Hermione or something like that.

I don't think Nina goes brilliantly with the names of your other children.

We considered Cordelia for dd1 but at that time were worried about the Buffy connection (!). She ended up being Claudia which I still absolutely adore. I wouldn't use Ophelia, dh liked Miranda but I couldn't get past the possibility of Randi.

How about Perdita (love his one & didn't get to use it!)? Very cute nicknames if that's a bonus. Some people might think Dalmatians I guess but I think Shakespeare is a stronger connection.

Laniakea · 04/06/2016 20:30

oh Cecilia is good too - that would've been ds1s name if he'd been a girl. It's another one with an unfortunate meaning though if that matters to you.

Laniakea · 04/06/2016 20:33

or Cressida?

We loved it but thought maybe too much then DD1 chose it as her nom de plume!

I love Nina. Aurelia and Claudia are both fine but not my taste. Cordelia and Ophelia aren't posh, they're pretentious and just too "try hard" IMO.

Dogolphin · 05/06/2016 15:14

What about Antonia with the nn Nina?

Raines100 · 06/06/2016 09:59

Love Aurelia- think this is my fave.
Cordelia is lovely, too.
Claudia- liked this (but not the cloudier pronunciation) until someone above pointed out the meaning. Can't decide if this would bother me.
Nina- ok but a bit bland next to the sibling names and it sound a bit clumsy to my ear.
Ophelia- I know one. She is the opposite of posh, and I've always thought her name a bit ironic. Puts me off.

Love your other names btw. Lysander and Tatiana were on my list but DH vetoed.

To whoever raised an eyebrow at those two together, it was Titannia not Tatiana from AMSND.

SleepyRoo · 06/06/2016 10:07

Aurelia is best in terms of associations, aesthetic sound of the name, and how it fits with siblings. Claudia least favourite - sounds like a mean-girl name.
