Cassia.

Shortened to Cassie probably.

Or can you suggest anything else?
Englishy/fairly traditional but not popular or boring.

Prefer flower names.

Thank you!

Wouldn't that be Cassiope or Cassiopia?

CoYoAddict · 25/05/2016 06:23

Just not sure if there is a connection although they are similar

BigGreenOlives · 25/05/2016 06:43

All the baby name sites seem to say Greek - of course who knows what their sources are. The only Cassias I've come across have been very upper middle class.

Socksandslippers · 25/05/2016 07:34

My daughter is called Cassia (she's 2 years old). I think it's very pretty but it does bug me when people pronounce it wrong!

ChessieFL · 25/05/2016 07:38

How is it pronounced? Cass-ee-a or Cass-eye-a?

CoYoAddict · 25/05/2016 07:48

I would say CASS-ee-a

wouldn't occur to me to pronounce it any other way Confused

CordeliaFrost · 25/05/2016 08:33

I pronounce it CA-sha, as it's the feminine of Cassius, which is traditionally pronounced CASH-us.

Plus the only Cassia I know pronounces it this way.

CordeliaFrost · 25/05/2016 08:34

Oh and lovely name OP.

HouseOfBiscuits · 25/05/2016 09:49

Cassia is a lovely name.

I'd pronounce it as CASS-ee-a in the UK.

I think Cash-a and Cash-us are American pronunciations.

CoYoAddict · 25/05/2016 10:07

Yes I guess like Alicia we would Al-is-eya whereas Americans tend to say Aleesha

dailymaillazyjournos · 25/05/2016 20:37

Was also going to suggest Kezia but was beaten to it.

I think Cassia is nice. Cassie sounds like a dog's name.

Namelessbabe · 26/05/2016 15:04

I know a Cassia - pretty name.
I like Rosa and Rose too.
What about Blossom too?

BendydickCuminsnatch · 26/05/2016 18:40

Blossom always makes me think of this little Blossom we were behind while crazy golfing once... She was really naughty and her parents going 'Blossom, Blossom darling, Blossom don't do that please' in really soft ineffective voices was hilarious Grin Also it reminds me of the word 'bosom'.

WellErrr · 26/05/2016 20:25

Blossom makes me think of a big dairy cow Grin

But I'm glad people like Cassia Smile

I love it, it's on my list too :) (had been before :) )

It sounds like a Greek holiday resort.
Cassandra is much nicer.
