Hi there. Our 2nd son is due in a few weeks. We are liking Jaylen - I don't want to ask family (I made that mistake last time) so I found this site!

Thank you in advance. Our 1st son is Clayden. Are they too similar?

Thanks xxx

Yes they are too similar.

PacificDogwod · 29/03/2016 22:24

Yes. Too similar.

My father and brother are called similar sounding names (think Ronald and Donald). It's a practical nightmare Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/03/2016 22:25

Much too similar

BennyTheBall · 29/03/2016 22:25

Yes too similar.

Also too much like Jayden which is on the MN banned list.

nectarini1983 · 29/03/2016 22:27

I think people will think you've misspelt Jayden so a lifetime of correction ahead!

nomorechocolate2016 · 29/03/2016 22:28

Not keen sorry. I have never heard of either name and would find Jaylen difficult to remember.

Milzilla · 29/03/2016 22:35

Far too similar. Tongue-tying in fact.

I'm not keen sorry - sounds made-up.

Fairylea · 29/03/2016 22:37

Way too similar ! Sorry, it's really not my kind of name at all.

Tiggeryoubastard · 29/03/2016 22:40
Biscuit
ClarenceTheLion · 29/03/2016 22:43

I think a lot of people would naturally want to rhyme them - Claydon and Jaydon. I don't think they sit together well, sorry!

Sophronia · 29/03/2016 22:50

Too similar I think.

BushyTailedPony · 29/03/2016 22:51

Yup. Agree with above. It's too similar to your other sons name. I wondered about just calling him Jay. But then you'd have Jay and Clay so that's not much better.

EssentialHummus · 29/03/2016 22:53

Really don't like the name, on its own or with your other DC's name. A bit yoonique.

CaoNiMao · 30/03/2016 06:16

Dreadful!

sonlypuppyfat · 30/03/2016 06:26

I've never heard of either name, I bet you can never find personalised mugs!

SavoyCabbage · 30/03/2016 06:44

Clarence is right. People are going to want to say Jayden because it rhymes and sort of flows better.

Clayden and Jaylen are like a tongue twister together.

Jason? 'Clayden and Jason will you get your shoes on RIGHT NOW!'

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 30/03/2016 06:57

Jaylen isn't even a name, and yes, it's like a variant of clayden
Pick something that doesn't end in 'en'

RidersOnTheStorm · 30/03/2016 06:58

Just no. Awful.

They're too similar. Also, I'm not keen on it! The NN, Jay, is okay, though! I think we just have different taste, regarding names. If you love it, use it Smile

NoAdventureNoTime · 30/03/2016 13:52

I know a Jaylen, lovely little boy, so not made up name in my bookConfused

TVC15 · 30/03/2016 13:54

Are you the Katie/Kitty poster??

Anyway, it's hideous.

MissBattleaxe · 30/03/2016 13:59

No, it's awful. It sounds made up and also like a wrong spelling and too much like Jayden- all at the same time!
