Yes, I'm looking for the Holy Grail of girls names.
I don't want anything popular, nor do I want a frilly, girly unusual name (Seraphina, Elodie, Primrose...) or a way out there OTT name (Honeysuckle, Temperance, Jacintha...)
It has to be classic and strong, but still a name that a little girl would be proud of.
Does it exist?
So far, I'm going along the lines of Miranda, Juliet, Helena...but I don't really love any of them. Any ideas mumsnetters?

Names ending in a consonant always sound stronger to me than 'a' or 'ie' or 'ia' endings. I thought of:

Winifred/Freda
Beatrix/Beatriz

We had similar criteria (plus the name had to work in Dutch as well as English) and went with Vera. I LOVE DD's name, it's strong but feminine and looks great in print. We also considered Matilda, Frida, Veronica and Jolanda (pron yolanda)

Cecily, Iona, Flora, Audrey.

If I had a girl she would be Bethany or Elouise. I think those both fit your criteria
