After a colour in the rainbow. What do you choose for boy and a girl?

I would choose Red for a boy and Violet for a girl.

I quite like Saffron or Sapphire for a girl.

Boy is a bit more difficult, maybe Cyan (pronounced ki-yan) or perhaps Charcoal - nn: Charlie or ColeGrin

AdoraBell · 20/03/2016 00:16

Purple for a boy and vermilion for a girl.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 20/03/2016 00:17

DS would be Red, DD would be Indigo.
Those are the colours I see their personalities.

AndNowItsSeven · 20/03/2016 00:21

Blue for a boy Violet for a girl.

DropYourSword · 20/03/2016 01:06

i'm going to be very pretentious and go for Giallo-Blu for a boy (it's the nickname for an Italian football club) as it sounds better than Yellow-Blue. You said hyphenation was allowed, right?

Eminybob · 20/03/2016 01:34

Blue for a girl. My dad called me Blue when I was little for some unfathamable reason.

Red for a boy. Like in The Black List. Or That 70's Show.

imwithspud · 20/03/2016 09:05

Whoops, I was half asleep last night and I didn't realise the op said colour of the rainbow, not colours in general.Blush

mrsjskelton · 20/03/2016 09:09

Blue-Violet for a girl.
Red for a boy!

zoomtothespoon · 20/03/2016 09:16

My brothers called Red Grin

00100001 · 20/03/2016 10:36

Errr, the law clearly states this:

^"It has been decreed that from the time that Binary posts on MN, that the only allowable names for children will be Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Infidgo or Violet. No exceptions, no other spellings, no taking into account languages, no shades. Hyphenation is allowable.

Law breakers will be issued with the MN Sanction of: Chocolate

Signed: The Law Maker"^

So away with your Giallo-Blues and Vermilions! Grin

Pick an allowed name :p

Let's all pretend that Indigo is typed correctly in that last post.

and that my italics worked

Thanks, OP, for clarifying those rules. There are some posters here who appear to think they can circumnavigate the decree.

Red for a boy (after shawshank redemption)
And Indigo for a girl.

StitchesInTime · 20/03/2016 10:42

Indigo for a boy and Violet for a girl.

But I have 2 boys, so that would be a problem. Would it be terribly unimaginative to call them Indigo-1 and Indigo-2?

antiqueroadhoe · 20/03/2016 10:43

No numbers can be involved so you would have to give them different names

ThornyBird · 20/03/2016 10:43

I already have a DS who is a Red! Don't know what I'd call the other 3 DC though Grin

StitchesInTime · 20/03/2016 10:45

No numbers?

Hmmm. Maybe I'll call DS1 Indigo, nn Indy, and DS2 Indigo, nn Go. That way we'll avoid any confusion.

00100001 · 20/03/2016 10:55

that's why hyphenation was allowed, in case for some reason you used all seven names in your family. .... obvs

what about when they get a letter sent to "Indigo Stitches"? hmm?

Honestly this is a serious business!

OP posts:
ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/03/2016 11:00

Red - boy
indigo - girl.

Although we would have to chose outlandish middle names the dc could be known as, with every other child having your name, both boys and girls.

00100001 · 20/03/2016 11:02

if you;re prepared to take that chance and risk a Chocolate bar.... !

Middle names with different initials?

megletthesecond · 20/03/2016 11:15

Red for a boy (thinking Shawshank Redemption here).

Indigo for a girl (I used to know one).

TippyTappyLappyToppy · 20/03/2016 11:18

It's obviously going to be Violet for a girl, Red for a boy and Indigo for the spirited child of over-indulgent Hippy parents.
