Just that really.... How would you rank these names?

against the consensus Lainey is my fave ive heard it before on an American movie can't quite remember the title but it was a big romance ;)

Plus sounds like its a good sentimental one if it was your grandmothers good choice!

2nd fave Margot

You can never predict what will happen to a name though can you? I say this as a mother to a Kit...

I sympathise summer.
I love Kit as a diminutive of Kristian, Christopher etc.
Or y'know just after the car.

Damn rooneys should have stuck to their shit chavvy names eh?

JingsAndCrivens · 29/01/2016 23:20

How do you feel about the arrival of the latest Rooney SummerMonths?

I love it too summer.

Don't worry in ten years Wayne will be on the scrap heap doing MOTD with Gerrard and Beckham.

No comparison will be made at all then Smile

  1. Nina is beautiful
  2. Evelyn is too (specially if pronounced 'Eev-lin'.
  1. Margot is fine.

4 Lainey is slightly odd, sorry, - are you sure this is a name?

NadiaWadia · 30/01/2016 00:43

Sorry I didn't RTFT. I see Lainey is in fact a name. Still find it a bit strange though.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 30/01/2016 00:48

Lainey is nice reminds me of the film 'she's all that' I would use it as a middle name though.
Evelyn lainey is great lovely as is Margot lainey.
Not so keen on Nina

3luckystars · 30/01/2016 01:27

I like Lainey, its on my list :) but if you are not sure, then maybe the middle name idea would work. But I do like it!

3luckystars · 30/01/2016 01:31

The other names, Nina is nice but I know one that calls herself "Neye Nah" and I wouldn't pick it for that (very silly) reason.

Evelyn and Margot are ok but feel to me like older lady names, but as said earlier, a lot can change in a few years!

ThirtyNineWeeks · 30/01/2016 01:31

Margot is fab but the others are horrid. Evelyn is simply the pits and reminds of someone who would stink of meat pie body odour.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 30/01/2016 01:38

1 Nina: elegant, classy
2 Lainey: contemporary, not ubiquitous
3 Evelyn: traditional, lends itself to nice nicknames
4 Margot: quirky, unique

What I think of:

  1. Nothing so no.1 for me
  2. Celebrity gossip
  3. Film with Pierce Brosnan
  4. The good life versus Paper towns
SummerMonths · 30/01/2016 08:42

Gosh there isn't a clear winner here. There's quite a bit of love and hate for each name.

Nina was our front runner before grandma Lainey died and I think it's probably still out front runner given Lainey provokes such strong reactions. Maybe Nina Lainey.

It's so hard. This is our fourth and final child. The other three were so easy to name!

DontKillMyVibe · 30/01/2016 09:31

In that case I'd go with Nina Lainey and keep Lainey as a middle name

Quercus3 · 01/02/2016 12:39

Nina
Evelyn
Lainey
Margot

They are all great names though

PooDogMillionaire · 01/02/2016 13:00

How about Lainey as a middle name?

Margot Lainey
Evelyn Lainey
Nina Lainey

MamaMotherMummy · 01/02/2016 14:07

Margot Lainey

kimlo · 01/02/2016 14:17
